Focus RS
I know that's early production and in the wet but it looks like it has some wimpy valving. Lots of pogoing around. I've been getting a bit less and less excited for this car and think an EvoX or STI would be a better choice still.
If STI ever gets a new motor to keep up with the power of other things offered right now it should easily be the top car to have.

we'll see. i stand by my opinion that it will be a very fun daily driver.
Ford does weird stuff with dampening on the ST cars. My Fiesta ST was horribly over dampened in the rear stock. It was so bad that going to coilovers with more than double the factory spring rates actually made the car ride better.
Ugh, so true. His nonsense sliding on that massive wet lot were terrible. Its not like he cant make a car rotate with that much open area, so makes me think the car just didn't really do what he wanted it to do.
Even a stock Evo with a small e-brake tug will hold massive power-slides that are almost telekinetic in a big wet lot.
Fords have usually been valved and sprung a little on the soft side but omg this is quickly becoming a hype car and its imo a little disgusting.
I was so excited at the opportunity to look at this as a serious replacement for my 8 but this is just circus flamesuit ridiculous now!

Its great the US will be getting a Focus RS, an awd one at that, but it seems to me that Ford is hedging their bet with limited production numbers, no lightweight materials in the panels or chassis, and a toned down exterior (compared to previous RS models). I am not saying they needed to go all Fast & Furious, but next to the CTR it just looks bland http://www.carscoops.com/2015/03/201...e-r-wpoll.html
To me, the new RS is less rally and more grocery.

The new Si and the CTR has to be one of the ugliest "lets put lines everyfingwhere" cars ever.
And that's taking the title from the new WRX/STi which is no small feat.

The evo went from rally homologation to road race/drag hop along to touring car with the X. Subaru went the opposite way and ford looks like they are following that "we tell you its cool so tell your friends" marketing outlook that took Subaru so far (idk how or why) because the cars have really not been up to the same standard as they were in terms of racing capability or overall performance.
This really does not deserve the RS (Cosworth throwback) badge from what I have been seeing in this thread. Its for kids to pretend to drive fast and not stall = danger and high insurance rates for the rest of us.
Thanks FORD USA/Global marketing on totally bugging up a great car.
You had me until you stated the Evo 10 is a touring car. Then I just dismissed everything else you said.
MSport doesn't do Focus dev because current FIA regulations do not allow that car. Trivial fact, the MSport Fiesta R5 has a 2.0L Focus motor destroked to be 1.6L to fit within regulations.

These cars are not pure anymore and are targeted at an ignorant "Hype" buyer that really has no idea what the brand or model stands for. Its something that happens over time I suppose but there is something to be said when MSport has basically said they want NOTHING TO DO WITH THAT CAR OR ITS DEVELOPMENT!!
