Yea that Ford package with nice RS OEM wheels ready to bolt on is EXPENSIVE DUDE, WHAT A RIP OFF.
So many knee jerk reactions in this thread it's getting old.

$2K is a great price/deal for a winter package from Factory or after market, period.
I agree the snow tire package is pretty cool! If I got one I would definitely get the extra set of snow wheels, since I live in MO it would come in handy, and if I know myself well enough I doubt if I skip it at the time of purchase ill prolly find other uses for the money instead of buying tires and rims for the snow. So that would be the most logical way to get them!
Report by Italian test driver who attended the RS intro in Spain.
After testing the Drift Mode, he said that although its not like a RWD car, with 350bhp you can induce drift and maintain the car at an angle.
If you pay attention, you can spot the front also sort of understeering a bit through, as the rear assumes wide-angle: as he said- not a RWD car!
Than he put it into Track Mode and drove it on the track. He concluded that in track mode it drives cleanly and efficiently with gentle understeer. He suggested that he did not particularly like the steering devoid of feel, and the long shift lever travel, and although equipped with Recaro seats they were not particularly retaining.
The base price is Euro 39,500, circa $44K, quoted at end of report.
Although usually all the first intro drives nowadays, especially by up-and-coming Chris Harris wanna-be reporters, are full of superlatives likely as part-payback for the privilege of being invited and hope of returning again to next intro by manufacturer, this journalist was rather moderate in his excitement.
Not sure if the moderate enthusiasm is his style, or if he was honestly not particularly moved having driven newly improved A45 AMG Merc and Audi RS3, as well as Megane RS and Peugeot 308 GTi, or was it maybe subconscious jealousy it was not new Lancia Integrale or Fiat Abarth- it was a Ford?
Well, that is his final summary after each mode-test (Drift & Track).
More reports to come.
