If you had to take it in to the dealer for whatever reason and they can NOT prove that your S1, S2 or S3 is the cause of that SPECIFIC problem, then your good to go.
Stage 2 is rumored to cost between $1000-$1500 msrp. We'll see.
personally....i don't like the srt4...is just wayyyyyyyyy too ugly. inside look like any other old dodge....look like a rentel car...although the evo is not much better...but it doesn't look like a rentel car....and performance...i guess srt4 is pretty good

Still, and especially considering the price, this car is as impressive as hell.
Lighter than the evo and about 10k less.
But... I wish it wasn't fwd and had the hadeling stats that the evo does.
I want to give a personal shout out thanks to Dodge for making Subaru and Mitsubishi sweat their ***** off because of the SRT4. Great going Dodge.
I smell the evoMR and STi RA or spec C coming to our shores very very soon. (at an even lower price)

I take it you've never driver an Evo or a Miata. The Miata has a huge weight advantage over the Evo but you'd never think that after driving both of them back to back. The Miata feels far heavier than the Evo and handles like mud in comparison. Yes, I have driven both back to back more than once. IMO there are very few cars that handle as well as the Evo and the Miata certainly ain't one of 'em.

As for weight. That is something I HATE about the evo (and wrx that I presently own). Too damn heavy.
I want the power and handling of the evo in the balanced car like the S2000 with the weight of a miata. The Dpdge Razor may be that car if it ever comes out or if not something else will in these great horsepower wars. Again, thanks SRT4 pushing it up another notch.
And yes, I have driven both the Miata and evo.

Their power is beautiful though and somehow that makes them beautiful too in their own way.
Well, with any car that is 20k it's going to be lacking something somewhere. For instance, I have a tiburon which is in the same class as the srt, but out cars couldn't keep up with any of the neons. On the other hand, in my opinion the tibs look better and have great interiors as where the neons are lacking. Basically, any car that 20k is not going to have the full package like a 30+ car or the companies would lose alot of money. No one will ever make a car the has good styling, interior, and performance for 20k. Anyway, just my .02

But I don't agree with you that no one will put looks and power togather for under 20k.
The Dodge Razor is a concept car which looks great. It is a 2 seater, rwd and if introduced will be under 20k and is very light. It would also have similar engine components to the SRT4. If ever made this car would be one hell of a sports car.
Also, looks isn't a big deal. There are lots of cars that look great for under 20k. The Tiburon and Miata are two that come to mind. The SRT4 has shown you can get all the power too for under 20k. I'm sure we'll get it all soon.

The Miata feels far heavier because it has the power of a heavy duty Kenmore washing machine motor. Put the power of an evo into a miata and it's a whole different story though. The Miata and S2000 are perfectly balanced cars with a 50/50 weight split. The evo is not. This translates into a much much better handling car as well.

Evo vs. Neon SRT
I dont know if this topic has been raised here yet, but a few of us from a Nissan forum were arguing about this. Supposedly, there is a friend in Arizona who just bought a Neon SRT and took it to the track to run a 13.8 1/4 mile. That was fast enough to beat an Evo that was also there that day.
Both cars were stock. Unfortunately, the Neon is $10,000 cheaper but competing with the Evo. Kind of like how the Evo is $20,000 cheaper than the Corvette but it still competes with that... there is always has the bigger (or faster) fish in the sea...
Anyone think the Neon is worth it?

Srt-4 is pretty cool, but the cars were made for two different types of racing. Neon=straight, Evo=corners. It doesn't suprise me at all that the Srt-4 got a stock time like that, but it will never compete with the evo through some twists and turns.
If you just want to go straight save yourself the money and go Neon. ****, all the money you save you can dump into the engine and dominate everyone.

However, despite that, I still really really really want an evo....
IF you do not launch the EVO it will run 13.8+
If you launch the EVO will run 13.5 -
Heres proof

Many people forget you need skill to drag race. I've seen old guys in Vipers run 14.
When you launch an EVO all 4 wheels bite and give the car a tremendous boost. Once the car is moving the spooled turbo takes the car to the finish line.
