What did you trade it in for?

It's still got quite a bit of time on the warranty if I have issues I'm covered for now. My buddy is a powerstroke nut and he said the 2010's are solid. Time will tell.

Being that time...money...among others won't allow me to trade up, I'm gonna try an Edge programmer on my 4.8L. Power/Tow/Econ mode, plus the gauges, looks pretty handy.

dont experament or pimp with the trailer wheels. Keep the trailer wheel and trailer spec tires on it.

I just installed air bags in the rear springs. According to the manufacturer, they are good for another 1,000 lbs. However, I'm not using them to exceed to towing limit, just to help keeping my ride leveled under load.

Very easy to install

Just got me a 2004 Chevy 2500 HD Duramax Diesel on Friday. Will make a most excellent tow rig!

just towed 800 miles up to NH and back. Bed had 1500lbs of truck parts in it, 2800lb trailer, s14 240 on the drive back, heavy rains most of the way home.

averaged 15mpg going 80 in the dry and 65 in the wet.

rolled 183k on the way back. truck has only had brakes, filters, oil, tires changed since new.

You live in Colorado or Pennsylvania and you may be asking too much of the tow vehicle. I lost my brakes once on I 70 going through the rockies and swore I'd never be in that situation again. We can't all afford a new $50k truck, but you're better buying too much truck than too little.
Couldn't agree anymore with you. If you're on a budget I would look at the late 90's dodge cummins, they're around the $8k range and maybe a bit less.

I'll never go back to a gasser again. Though, as my family expands. I have considered the Sequoia with a TRD supercharger. Not a cheap rig though

P.S. Really wish my dodge had a 6th gear.
Darn, I was hoping on picking up a pre 2007 dodge cummins too, oh well If I do i'll just get the 6spd manual version, what's wrong with the 4spd? I'm going to try my best to get a 2010-2012 Dodge Cummins 2500. The new ones now have 350hp and 800lbs of torque which would make towing an evo a piece of cake. Tow capacity is up to 20,000lbs now for the 2500 series Hopefully by the end of this year I will have it

forgot to qoute my first post...

truck is a 97 dodge ram 2500, cummins, 5spd, 2wd

trailer is a bigtex equipment trailer 20'. not for cars but gotta work with whats available for now

I'd love to pick up a 04-05 cummins. best 6spd trans, crd, easy to make big power. I'd be nice to tow with at least 600hp and 1200ftlb. maybe next year...
