We do the wheel bearing every other year on our trailer. Dealing with that stuff on the road sucks. Glad you were able to get it back together quick. Trailer stuff can be a nightmare to find sometimes.

As discussed before my tow vehicle is a Nissan Navara ST 4x4 in manual.
It is powered by a 4cyl 2.3L turbo diesel with 140kW (188hp) & 450nm (330ft/lbs).
8.5 ft = 2.6M
The widest trailer you are allowed in australia is 2.5m (8.2ft). By the time you take into consideration the wheels and sides you are down to 1.95m (6.4ft) between the wheels of the trailer.
My car is 2m (6.5ft) wide.
Correct! As above, our maximum trailer width can not exceed 2.5m (8.2ft).
Ok, I finally picked up my trailer. While it does have a tilt bed function & 2.3m ramps (7.5ft), i still need to get some ramp extensions made up to give me a bit more of gradual angle due to my front aero package.
Here are some pictures of my car. Front splitter is 2m wide (6.5ft) with the sides being 1.95m wide (6.4ft).
NOTE: First photo has no side skirts, second photo has no front bar or splitter... but you get the idea

So i managed to load my car onto my trailer, without removing any aero or changing wheels.
Safe to say, the new trailer works an absolute treat!
After towing the trailer and car combination for the first time, I was left wanting for more power and torque, particularly on the larger hills. I kept within 5-10km/h of the speed limits, so it wasn't that disappointing.
I think I will do some modifications to the tow vehicle such as bigger intercooler and exhaust to get it to breathe a bit better and hopefully to get a little more power.

Bumping this up. I finally purchased a truck so now Im in the market for a trailer and looking for feedback. I would like one that is around 18' including the dovetail maybe 20' for some flexibility. I also want a closed deck so I can haul other stuff if needbe.
While the AL trailers are nice I cant justify the price increase so I will most likely be sticking with steel. The two questions I have are do I want a wood deck vs steel deck and also in regards to ramps do you'll prefer slide out ramps or spring loaded flip up? It seems there is no right or wrong answer so Im merely looking for feedback on why you choose what you choose.

Oooh I forgot about this thread. I got a new tow vehicle in February. 2017 Ram 2500 Laramie Megacab
I sold my Kwikload trailer back in April, and I've been in the market for a 24-26ft enclosed. Looking at something like a Haulmark Edge like the one below. In your guys' experience, what are the absolute necessities with an enclosed? I'm thinking anti-sway/weight distribution, maybe electric tongue jack, racks for fuel/tires/etc... Eventually I'd get a generator and AC unit.

Hi Joe
Thank you; Ive wanted to get a truck for years but they aint cheap and I purchased a home almost 2 years ago as well so lets just say money has been bleeding out of my account, doh!
But here she is. Haven't decided on a name yet...my current top choice is Ricky but open to suggestions. Oh and I had a lil chat with Eva the other night to make sure she wasn't jealous
Anyway, who can provide some feedback on what I mentioned above? Im getting anxious to pick something up but must educate myself prior to pulling the trigger so I don't regret my decision

I was looking into the tilt decks as well as roll backs a few days ago and then started thinking I should keep it simple. Not to mention the weight aspect although 2100# isnt too terrible considering the trailers Im looking at seem to be right around the 2000# mark.
Thoughts on steel vs wood decks?
