Crew cabs hold just as many people. I have zero issue getting 6 people into my truck. Only reason I mention it is because having bed space is super convenient. Spare set of wheels and tires, dirty tools, spare parts etc. all fit in a bed with room to spare and you don't have to worry about keeping everything clean or dirtying up an interior.
It's also a HUGE time saver not having to unload a car, getting to the track, pushing the car off the trailer and being ready to go without having to touch anything is absolutely awesome.

Dallas, I think the reason the Jeep and the Touareg work is the curb weight, those things are lead sleds...lol. Your Winnie doesn't tow well because its Class-C on a van chassis, those things are questionable empty IMO. MoHo should be Class-A or nothing IMO. Unless its a Super-C on the GM Kodiak chassis.
A sequoia would do it. But I think the Suburban is nicer, more wheelbase. They're not that hard to daily, you get used to it. Just remember its a truck, so you can run stuff over...lol

This is getting silly honestly. A sequoia is the same frame as the Tundra. Its the same 5.7 iforce v8 etc etc. Possibly geared differently I know the Tundras with the 5.7 come with 4.10s. Regardless its the same exact size as a truck.
Same thing with e Suburban its not going to be any different as a DD relative to the actual pickup.
You need to decide what is most important to you as your question has already been answered a few times.
A GC or Touareg or Cayenne is basically the smallest SUV that would still be sufficient for towing and are all rated in the 7k range. With a factory tow package they will all come with a class IV receiver and will work fine. Do not go smaller than that. If you want more room thats fine. If you dont want a truck that is also fine but my point is some of these vehicles are literally the same size as the truck.

You must drive like an elderly Asian female. My raptor barely eeks out 12.5mpg around town. 13.5-13.7 cruising 75 on freeway trips, like 10-10.5 towing the Evo at 70...lol

Hence why I got a duramax. We get 22-26mpg highway, 12.5-14.5 towing 10klbs enclosed brick with evo and everything ~75mph. No upshifts on overpass's and not a drop of DEF or DPF to hassle with. And thanks to our lovely EPA, the paid off truck is still worth what I paid for it used with 80k additional miles and it seats 5 comfortably.
It's funny when you step back and look though. I tore into the Evo and made it undrivable on the street (logically) so I got a Pickup. The pickup isn't "as comfortable" or park-able as it should be, so I got a JGC. I see a vicious cycle and it's all Hoosier's fault lol.

Great topic, I've been on the hunt for an SUV/Truck for myself. I recently borrowed a friends 2015 Ram 1500 loaded and was used to pick up a car that was not running. He lent me his full rig, tailer and Ram and it was great. My wife went along for the trip and it did everything I needed it to do. We liked it so much it has sparked me to move on from my Jeep Wrangler.
I was looking into a used Sequoia 4x4 2010 -2014, Nissian Pathfinder 2010-2012 LE 4x4 with V8 ( Hard to find ) for SUV.
For Trucks I prefer Crew Cab and test drove a 2010 -2014 Tundra 4x4, loved it but sucked gas like no other. I recently test drove a Nissan Titan 2010-2014 2WD Crew Cab and liked it a lot and it was a much better price point than the Tundra. I will sit back and try and find a Crew Cab 4x4 vs the 2WD. The one truck I've liked the most was the Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra Crew Cab 4x4 2012-2014 but they are in the Tundra price range. Not looked at the Fords at all because I've had a lot of bad experiences with their products over the years. I know the new Ecoboost motor sounds good just don't know much about them or maybe the 5.0L truck, . I've also not considered the Ram in my list as much as the Import trucks. I know I can't expect much as in "gas mileage" with these large vehicles but I want room in the cabin and tow ability.

WRONG
wheelbase is the killer on those suv's. even an Excusrion Powerstroke (arguably the largest SUV made) gets sway pretty bad compared to its superduty counter part.
any of those silly suv's you guys are mentioning will get the job done with a good hitch (i really like blue ox) but they will not hold a handle to a longer wheel based (ie truck).
