Fitting 285s with the arms in the rear will be much easier.

Of course, now you could also step up to wider wheels and 295s

haha one mini step at a time. i've been on 9.5" wide and 255s/265s for so long, i've never run 285s.

I secretly envy all of you guys who break things and end up with just a "few" parts to change... First and last time I stripped a 4th gear I had to change both gear clusters and the rear diff..

Last axle I broke took out my cusco diff and then the rest of the diff with it later. Sometimes the dominoes just keep falling.

speaking of projects.... this came the other day.. Secret wish is to manage to control both ACD and AYC with it... Syvecs has a diff control unit that might do that job, but the dealer I got this from insisted all the diffs can be done with just the s7+... Looking into control strategies... documentation is a bit lacking to say the least..

pretty much, including the service of dropping the trans etc.

If anyone's got a 6spd still, highly recommend reaching out to TRE and getting it rebuilt with the new 4th gear.

The past few years I've seen more people talk about alternator case bolts backing out. They're long M5 bolts and access around them is a bit tight but I came up with this locking tab washer to hold them in place. There's two tabs, one gets folded over the bolt head after it's torqued and the other gets folded over the alternator body. This keeps everything from being able to spin or back out. I'll likely get this added to the site for anyone interested, will be sold as a kit including new bolts and washers as well as the tab fold washers.

Thanks. I've seen others try friction based lock washers and still have the bolts back out.
