insanely bad luck over the last couple weeks

- evo hasn't been running right since I got it back - found out the E85 gauge is dead for some weird reason, it's getting power so we're replacing it now to see if that fixes the issue since I'm on flex fuel. If it's not the gauge, maybe the actual flex fuel thingy? No boost leaks

- I hit a raccoon with a veloster N over the weekend which basically shut down the car. Found a piece of the intercooler in the throttle body, once that was removed the car was running find but getting the body replaced now

- Tornado just hit my townhouse in st louis (I wasn't there). Need to drive down and assess and see what to do

On top of that a taxi hit me while I was on my ebike in NYC last week. Insane

The flex tune *should* default to 50% ethanol content and flash the CEL if it doesn't receive input from the ECA. Depending on what fuel is in the car it could certainly run poorly.

does everyone know what the part number is for the gas cap release clip inside the gas cap cover? it broke and doesn't open now unless I stick a key in to lever it open while hitting the release

edit: the part number is MR970563

I just replaced mine with this.
Amazon Amazon

The actual OEM part is cheaper than this, but the part numbers are listed on the amazon page. I went this way cause prime but STM has it for like $3 +shipping.

I just ordered from Amazon also, but the OEM part. The plastic bit of it is not good on the OEM

I remember someone 3D printing a version of the plastic part: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...#&gid=1&pid=11

Next time mine breaks I'll spend a few minutes to model replacement part.

moving on, what's the best way to raise the rear suspension? a longer spring on its own doesn't do anything without preload, right? since the SSB rear hubs, my rear suspension has been so low, even after flipping those control arms upside-down

so your shock length is max'd out? for my FA's I ordered a longer lower bracket

It's close. Ohlins is set up like it's a little cup at the bottom - there's a line in the threads that you're not supposed to go less than. If I order an inch longer spring and add an inch of preload, is that not the same in the end? I guess maybe some behavior change on lift off and landing of the wheel?

I'm stuck thinking your shock is just too short if youre flipping the control arm. see if you can use a longer cup(what ordered from FA), or see how the bottom bracket is attached...maybe you can find a longer bracket. mine just screws in
