Ya man. . . I had an ACT 2900 go out on me in a DSM before. It was within a couple hundred miles & a good romping. I guess I am just sketchy on break in due to that experience. (enter DSM reliability comments here haha)

I think if you have the time for break in then thats good. I've also been one to have a clutch installed, drive about 200 hwy miles then hammer on it. Sometimes neccesity dictates ones actions!

i'm with you there. when i got my new clutch installed last year around this time i was very cautious of the manufacturer suggested break in period, even though a lot of people told me otherwise.

i figured what the hell, it couldn't hurt. i certainly wasn't losing anything by being careful for a few hundred miles.

i'm also the type that with my luck had i not done the break in it probably would have crapped all over me the first time i got on it. but that's just me. i tend to be a lightening rod for unfortunate happenstance.

Haha same here anything bad that can happen usually does and that's why I don't do certain things to my car

i'll be posting a whole official thread in the for sale section later on this evening, but figured i would give locals first crack at the stuff before i put it out there.

most of them are yes. some are platform agnostic like the gm 3 port, boost gauge, boost controller, etc...

hey all, im completely out of the loop, but i just got an evo VIII and i love it! but no one really has anything going on in the old Erie PA. so how goes it?

and mondobongo i sent you a pm about the coilovers. i bought my evo 2 weeks ago. and the seller and myself were unaware of the blown coilover. he said he was going to send me the stockers with spring and 400$ to replace it but nothing has shown up. and im getting impatient lol.

eh, i have to honest these parts are most likely never going to make it on to the car. most of them i have been sitting on for about a year.

truth be told i've been seriously considering a new audi s4. it would be a much nicer ride for driving back and forth to work and rolling around town to clients in.

we will see though.

it's been a little over a year since i have been here, yes.

let's just say that they have been *AMAZINGLY* generous with the raises already. which is why i have been looking at the S4. i was also considering a new M3 or C63 AMG, but decided that the RWD just wouldn't be practical in the winter around here.

another reason to keep the EVO....slap snow tires on it...you are good to go.

If you get a RWD, you can start drifting up at Beaver Run

just don't pick up a new girlfriend or any money you had will be gone...

funny you should mention that, my girlfriend and I are actually getting ready to move in to a much larger place in a few weeks here.

i don't really have the desire to keep two cars at this point. i've got too many other things i would like to accomplish in the near future like buying a house to want to worry about double insurance, double maintenance, and for a few more months until the evo is paid off making double payments either. too much money and too much hassle.
