PCD: 2013-2014 Till We Break It Edition
I use new pads and old rotors all the time, as well as many of these guys. haha. I switch back and forth between my street pads and track pads before and after each event. There are no problems with it as long as you clean and bed in the new pads sufficiently. Jeff Ritter has a good video posted about this subject on Essex's site.

I have had some bad experiences with pad transfer/deposits causing bad shuttering on track when switching between compounds, but really only with Carbotech pads. It's always cleaned itself up after a little while though. No issues with my ST43's when switching between street and track. I know Marc has had issues with Carbo's as well. Take for FWIW.
I'm switching to DTC-60s after my carbotechs are gone.
Carbotech also has a strong disclaimer about running rotors with different compounds other than CT. I guess they deposit more than other pads. Or that's just a standard disclaimer.

^IIRC, Thai has had some issues with Hawks. But he would swap RC6 in between session and use it to clean up the rotors. RC-6 are abrasive when cold. I haven't experienced anything bad with Hawks or ST43s. Carbos, I didn't use long enough to say.
^I'll let him explain his experience. Just going by what I remember discussing with him. I'm not worried about the corrosiveness issue as long as the pads work. And holy f*ck do the Hawk DTCs work.
he said you need to up yo game, punk!
I've gotten wheels wet after they've had DTC dust on them, even let them sit for a couple months, and it still came off. My wheels are powder coated, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.
I really like the DTC60's. More so than any other pad I've tried. They have an amazing amount of TQ and its also very linear... the harder you push the more they bite. I'll be trying the 70's next when I burn thru these 60's I have.

I'mma be looking for some ST43s this time around instead of Carbos. Hope they make them for EVO wannabeez.
