Well, for a guy that's planning to stick to the stock turbo or maybe a TME 6.5, do you think it's really necessary? $500 is $500. While I'm not in a hurry to get the car running, I'm anxious. I could put that towards some decent tires, or I'm sure I'll need to replace some suspension bits.

I paid $380 for mine, but yes - a clutch is great investment for any car, unless you never go WOT and shift gears

Comp is a great clutch for sure, I have the stage 4 in my daily. I installed it for the previous owner before buying the car a year ago...

a vendor gave me that price, I can't say who though because they apparently are not supposed to sell them that low and I think they got in trouble for it... Just shop around and you might find a great price

I was going to install my oil pan tonight. Guess what!?! I'm missing hardware... Go figure. Stopped me from installing my thermostat housing, too. So many wrong and missing bolts on this build. I don't know who installed everything before me, but I'd hate to have them work on my car. I'm really glad the suspension is stock.

lol i definitely know what you mean. After owning my car for over a year I'm still finding mis-matched bolts, random plugs not plugged into anything, crappy wiring job's and the list goes on lol. I want to put aside a little lump of money and replace all the old mis-matched bolts with brand new ones from Mitsubishi. Especially all my suspension bolts which look like they have been removed and re-installed around 25 times.

I've found it for $350ish, just wondering if it's a safe buy. Unknown company.

Not much the past couple days. I capped off the intake manifold ports for the EGR and the throttle body coolant lines. Going to zip tie them up tonight. Also going to try to pull carbon canister from the rear of the car and patch all of that up.

My newest annoyance is a frozen stud in my turbo. I managed to get 2 out, but this one is really bad. I've torched it and worn out 2 sets of vice grips. I may run it to a local shop but I don't really feel like paying to have it taken out.

Also dropped my flywheel off at the shop to have it resurfaced.

I have an order coming from JZN on Tuesday to get a few things done. Also have another order together to place next week. Including a stock clutch disc. A this point, I think it's the smart move for me. It fits my budget and I think it'll be fine for what I'm doing with the car for now. I also have a gut feeling that I may have to have some xfer case and transmission work done. The car only has 80k, but there's no telling what the PO did to the poor thing. With the condition everything else is in, I may be needing to send everything to TRE later in the year. If I do that, I'll put a new clutch in while I'm at it.

Just took the turbine housing to a machine shop. He said if he could get it out it'd be $20. Not too bad.

I was in the same situation as you, I got my black Evo 8 and had to put it back together when I first got it.

I ended up re-using the flywheel and pressure plate that came with it, and then bought a $50 dollar Exedy OEM replacement clutch disc off eBay. It held super good, over 80 launches in the 12/11s lol. I just searched eBay but do not see them now. Could be found on another site i'm sure.
