sucks to hear. Practice makes perfect! ha! Is it a new water pump? Did you use any sealant on the water pump gaskets? I always use the tacky red stuff and have had really good luck.

Boost curve looks good! Install that wideband and crank her up haha

good luck man

Figured it out, oops. There are supposed to be 5... 5 bolts in the water pump. I had 4... Serious facepalm. I was missing the one right behind the tensioner arm.

New gasket on the way, I'll install it asap and start logging some A/F!

So, for better or for worse, I've done everything on this car (aside from the machining) myself. In continuing the tradition, I decided I'm going to pick up a small welder to weld in my O2 sensor bung. I figured it'd run me $50 to have it put in. Might as well buy a cheap $100 welder to play with and try to learn. It'll delay me a bit, but I'm okay with that.

Water pump gasket came in today. I'm hoping to get some time tonight to R&R and get the car timed again. Not sure how much past that I can get done.

Ordered my last fittings for the oil cooler setup. $71 shipped on Amazon. So the setup ran me about $181. I'll make some brackets and it'll be good to go.

Everything should be here today. Here's hoping!

I have my wideband in place and wiring run. I'll get the gauge powered and the output into the ecu. Gotta pull my downpipe for the sensor install. Hoping timing goes smoothly. May be up and running tomorrow.

Oil cooler parts are here. I'll start working on the brackets ASAP.

Got part of my wiring done at noon.

Also removed this:

Rebuilding my VIII-uwvtfec.jpg

Wiring from the amp that was installed and power wire for the secondary inline fuel pump that's still on the car but I've all but removed. I might do that over the next couple of days, too.

Made some progress last night. Got the water pump, tensioner arm, tensioner, and eccentric pulley bolted and torqued back on. Cams are locked into place. I'll get her timed at noon.

Are you planning on logging AFR's through the ECU? If so, post up how it goes. I've been playing with that for awhile, but can't seem to get an accurate formula for evoscan to log accurately.

What formula are you using?

This is the one I found and was going to try:

0.03913*x+9

I tried that formula along with many other variations and it was off one way or another. A few people in the main thread about it had some luck, but most didn't. I ended up just using a serial to USB adaptor and using two logging cables. It's definitely worth giving it a try just to see if it works for you. I would love to be able to log with only one cable.

Well, my issue is that I don't have 2 working USB ports on my laptop. Due to how it sits in my seat, I broke the plastic insert on one of my ports. I could probably get a little dongle with 2 ports, but like you said, would MUHC rather not have to do a serial port. I'll let you know what I get.

Got the car back up, mostly. Need more coolant and need to finish the wideband install. But, she cranked right up. Very happy. Always a success.

New engine harness? Issues with the old wiring, or going for a tuck?

I got her on the road today. Really missed driving her. No leaks so far! Hopefully some fun updates soon.
