Had a busy day. Correctly wired the UEGO. Then I got to work.
I gave the AEM no-weld bung a shot. They make it for several different sizes of piping. The OEM pipe is super bendy and crushed. Luckly the clamp fit almost perfectly where I wanted it. This install REALLY makes me want a new downpipe...

This was where I initially had it clocked. Didn't work. Ran right into the driveshaft. Oops. Ended up putting it almost straight up. The downside is that I drilled a second hold. Hope I don't have a leak. It's sputtering a tad but I'll crank it down a hair now that it's heat cycled.
Without the factory heatshields I wrapped the pipe. I've had a roll of exhaust wrap on my shelf for 3 years. I just ordered some metal tie wraps. Not happy with how well they clamp.

Installed:

If you try this, definitely use a stepped bit. Ate right through the pipe. Install almost straight up, but just a hair to the driver's side to clear a heatshield.
Nice to know I'm "ok", now. My A/F at WOT is almost a 10 flat. Guess I have some room to play, now. Excited to make some progress tuning!

Looking good! I did the same thing with my 1st attempt at a WB bung. Marked it, brought it to a muffler shop to get welded, installed it and it hit the driveshaft.
I now have 2 bungs right next to each other.

If you can't tell, I'm used to things like this by now! I have a very small leak. Going to try to tighten the clamp a little and see if that fixes it.
But seriously, stock down pipe is horrible.
It's looking like logging the wideband through the ECU isn't super reliable, I guess I'll build a serial cable. I'll try to make it to Radio Shack today.
So Charlie, you have an 8.5 turbo. With my setup (Walbro, 8.5 turbo, drop-in), what should I target for boost? I was thinkigng 22 trailing to 20 by redline. 93 octane.

I ran my 9.8 cm turbo at 24 psi through my factory catback when my downpipe cutout wasn't open. It didn't seem to care and shouldn't be much different than full factory exhaust.

I agree man. Im sure its a good feeling to reap the benefits of all the hard work and lessons learned. I love these kind of builds because it helps those of us that know we can do it just get the proper tools and do it.

Wired my UEGO into #75 on the ECU. Readings are within .2 of my gauge. I'll check it out tonight and make some changes to my timing and watch VD and my logs closely. Pretty excited to make some power!
Mine reads off a little bit too. Id have to check what formula Im using, but I do remember tweaking the last number (9, in your case) to make the log match the wideband.
