really stoked thinking about doing PDX next year -- I think I'm gonna try to head up to Joliet for a PDX at the Autobahn! Hopefully all the clubs start getting their schedules lined up!

I ran more compression/rebound (tied on ohlins) but behavior stayed similary. ultimately had to slow down in the slaloms but in the mini I'm really able to tear through it.

I'm usually off throttle or maintenance throttle through slaloms, probably what happened was, I was going a little fast, felt the need to lift, then it started going one way too much and snapped back the other way. still though. unless I was wot and pulled off suddenly, wouldn't expect this out of an evo.

for 2016, I'm bumping the front heights, went from Ohlins stock springs to swifts at the same rate, and will throw on re71rs. If that doesn't fix it, i'll probably be inclined to add a front sway bar.

Latest event in the evo - first this year on new tires and superpro bushings

car is still fairly loose, felt good but I think I'm going to add a fsb with the clutch coming out anyway. that way, if it starts understeering too much, I can just stiffen the rsb or adjust the shocks.

line needs works, but happy with how the car is behaving for now.

Any concern about having the car too stiff and issues due to lack of compliance from the suspension?

if you mean by side-to-side wheel independence, some but not really. unless i see evidence that i'm lifting a FRONT wheel i won't be concerned, and i dont think that is going to happen given my stock power levels. the rear wheel, i wouldn't be surprised if it still lifts.

if you mean stiffness in general, not too much either, as autoxers are going much stiffer than i am. with the shocks set stiffer i'm still getting a little more roll than ideal, and i think a front bar is going to help a lot of the setup 'issues' i'm having with the car.

i'm not cetrain, but on the ohlins manual it looks like the DFVs are rebound only. can anyone confirm? below is from my manual:

Most good coilovers have static compression and adjustable rebound. My AST are that way, I would think Ohlins are as well?

And yeah, I was referring to the roll. I see some People like to control roll with springs, Others with sway bars. Then there's tire wear to consider. And I hear what you're saying about people that do autocross. Those guys rent some crazy setups LOL. Their suspension and tire selection can be surprising.

yea that's probably what it is then. I take some comfort in my setup being a lot more mild than most. I know acura rsxs running 1200lb springs...

Yeah. Those guys are weird LOL.

Robi recommend I run 8k/9k. I didn't want to buy new springs so worked with what I had. I'm now at 9k/11k, until I can get a set of 10ks. If my 9s would fit the rear, I'd buy 8s and run is recommendation.
Definitely not a popular setup when I talk to the AX guys. They think I'm crazy.

yeah, I just get a toooouch loose in a few spots in that last vid (17s, 38s or so) and get a good number of people wondering why my front heavy awd car is so loose. I actually kind of like it but think the car would benefit from being a ltitle more neutral. have a lot of degrees of freedom in tuning this car, which is nice compared to the Mini, but also a little paralyzed by choice.

if you're looking for springs, I've got my old ohlins 8k and 10k springs for cheap!

first index & raw time win in this car last sunday! it was with a local club, so not nats level competition but definitely a good sign as to how this car is performing!

by no means a perfect run and I definitely got lucky with a cone near the end there, but getting there with this car.

car is in the shop for clutch replacement, front sway bar install, etc.

adding to the list of why not's, I'm getting my downpipe ceramic coated. judging from what's under the car, that should be the only part of the exhaust that really needs to be coated. (my stock exhaust manifold is also coated though). The DP passes by the oil pan, and is also relatively close to the trans & t-case. Good enough reason for me to get the part coated.
