if you can't fit the dremel then you could try a saw blade and work it by hand. Something like this maybe https://www.homedepot.com/p/Bosch-3-...8GFS/205412399 . It takes a while but I have done stuff like that.

Took matters into my own hands today and figure out how to get that damn leaking oil line fitting off, without having to cut the fitting out... lol

It only took me bending the F out of my $450 heat shield to get to a $10 fitting. Yay. At least it's out now and the shield is able to bend back to shape. Now I have a proper straight -4an to 1/8 NPT fitting + -4AN swivel fitting on order. Should be here in a couple days.

Also installed my ID1700cc injectors.

Very cool.

You had to order that line? None of your local speed shops carry or make that kind of stuff? That sucks...

No idea. This was on Sunday. Summit takes two days to get to me on in-stock items in the Nevada warehouse.

With work and what not it would take me longer to get to a local shop. Internet for the win.

I had a vibrant 4AN - 1/8" NPT 90 degree fitting but the lower section wouldn't fit with my heat shield. Well, it fit but I couldn't get a wrench in to tighten it. So basically didn't fit.

Gotcha. Making time around work makes sense. I'm lucky to work a schedule where I can be off work with enough time to go run errands to places like that which typically close by 5pm...lol. I've also have a few industrial hose shops make me lines before.

I manage a team of designers so it's harder for me to take chunks of time off.

Also, does Nevada even have traffic? Traffic in the Bay is cray town from 4pm on.

I don't need a hose, just the fittings.

We have some traffic. Can take close to on hour to go across Vegas at peak times (25-30 miles)

Also, I don't take chunks of time off. I just get here at 6 or 7, and leave by 4 most days.

Here in the bay. 5-10 miles can take over an hour.

Good thing I don't drive to work.

I'm a lazy creative so I'm still asleep at 6am. :P

The only thing creative about my job is thinking of reasons not to say, "**** it, **** off, I quit."

Razorlab,
What did you end up with for knock settings? Hindsight is always 20/20... As soon as you mentioned that I was like "of course - built block = more noise". Wouldn't be the first time that I have or anyone else has had to deafen the knock system for a built block. It's just the cause and affect of forged pistons with the tolerances required.

This thing is going to be a rocket ship.

New oil line feed fittings installed. ID1700's installed.

Guess what... lean idle and cruise is GONE. I was able to turn back on fuel trims without them going crazy like before (yay!). I find this really odd because I had that issue with both 1300 and 1000 ID's. I now currently have the trims around -1.7 idle/cruise.

I had to lower min IPW to 1.1 to get the car to idle at 1.4 IPW (down from 1.6) to achieve stoich at idle. Without doing that the car idled rich at 13.2

WOT IDC's went down about 20%.

New problem (it's a party!), the drivability of the ID1700's kinda suck. I get this really weird *very* slight misfire feeling at light throttle cruise, if I give it a little more throttle, just slight, it cleans up. I also get this weird burbelly misfiring oddness on decel before the IPW gets cut. The ID1300's never felt like this.

I also get a really weird slight misfire feeling at 7800 rpm +. The tone of the engine changes as well. The only bit of log it shows up in is RPM and IDC, leading me to think it's injector centric.

Here is a full 3rd gear WOT log to 8300rpm with a bunch of stuff turned on: https://datazap.me/u/razorlab/id1700...5&zoom=130-485

I let off because the car felt weird up top.

Here is the same log with just IDC, RPM and wideband, you can see right at 7800 rpm (Marked in the log) there is a very subtle change to RPM and IDC that I feel and the tone of the engine changes. https://datazap.me/u/razorlab/id1700...8-485&mark=434

My car with 1650's gets a slight misfire/buck feel only when using REALLY light throttle going downhill in gear to maintain speed. Flat ground it doesn't do it. It's the injectors simply trying to run a very short IPW. Weird that you get it on flat ground. Maybe try lowering the min IPW a bit more if its riding the min?

Your AFR's get lean past 7800, into the 12's. Try adding some fuel.

I have Min IPW set at 1.1 but it never runs that. It runs 1.4 at idle and I think higher at cruise. I don't think cruise would run lower than idle.

Overall the 1700's driveabilty are totally different than the 1300's. In addition to the things I already listed, the car bucks (like you mentioned) with on/off throttle (which the 1300's never did), runs rich on shifts with normal driving around town (goes down to 11 or so), etc

Maybe I just need to dial in my fuel calibration table a bit more...

It's 11.7-11.9 until 8100.

Same AFR's I ran with the 1300's and they didn't do this.
