IIRC Garrett says otherwise and that flow direction doesn't matter and I'd link the nice doc they had that went in depth about water cooling but it seems they redid their website, took it off, and replaced it with 2 paragraphs saying they water cool their turbos. Sweet.

Anyway I wouldn't think it would matter unless BW did something different with the water jacket in the CHRA that would be affected by flow direction.

Eric sent me the instructions that came with the turbo, it had specific diagrams as to how to plumb it.

It's also an aluminum CHRA, not iron, so cooling is a bit more critical.

Folks it was plumbed proper I am a genius! Reality is that I think I just freaked out over something that I had freaked out over prior and already sorted. Either way go me

Oh and here is what BW says in their tech brief: http://www.turbos.borgwarner.com/fil...ical_brief.pdf

Was gonna say that design looks like they say that to keep air bubbles easy to bleed out. Then I slowed down and read lolol

Lol everyone except for Dallas sucks! Dallas you are still cool and also the winner, great guess!

I impulsively bought an old wing and trunk setup from Evolutionary. BTW best packing job ever Jarrod knows how to ship stuff like you can't imagine. I swear it took me 2 hours just to unpack it. Anyway can't wait to get it on the car and make a matching splitter for stage 1 aero modz yo!

Still brainstorming ideas on the splitter but my goals are probably in line with everyone else who has ever pondered what they want in a splitter. My want list is, more front grip (duh) durable, easy to R&R and affordable. I would love to use cables and have it hinge at the back so I would be able to winch it up onto the trailer without needing to remove it but if I can make it easily removable then that will not be as important.

Open to suggestions....

Also, in other news cut open another oil filter and we are officially in the clear! Motor is healthy and the break in oil is done wahoo!

Ive been trying to figure out a way to use the tie bar as a mount point for a quick releasing splitter. That ones been tough for me cause I know I can just make something basic and bolt it up but I keep getting myself stuck over thinking things.

Maybe would be cool to share some sketches of what we're thinking (here, new thread, FB, snail mail... whatever). I want something light and robust so cables in tension work well but something needs to locate it. Rods might be a bit better than cables for fine adjustment though, will probably go that route.

Also, janky isnt allowed :P. No angle iron or flat straps like others have done. Should look proper as well

If you have access to a 4x8' printer I can send you the template my 5" splitter I have on my car. Trace it onto some plywood or alumalite and cut. Also has the holes for the air dam setup to hug the stock bumper pretty nicely. Doubles as an undertray and goes back to the front axle. Can dismount it in under 3 mins. Takes a bit longer to mount but I'm fixing that this winter. I've got pics and more details in my build thread, tho I think I trimmed it a tad on the sides which I never posted about.

if you're interested shoot me an email to send it to.

If the rear tie bar is the piece on the subframe that's easy, drill holes in some shaft collars and thread them to take quik latches. Similar to how I have my front rods on my crashbar

I think the outside is the easy part, Its the inside and quick removal I havent come up with an elegant solution on yet.

Agreed. Mine would be easier to put on if finding the bolt holes was always easy, which is why I'm moving to quik latches for my bottom hardware. Still quick removal and just pushing it upward will snap it into place and shouldn't have any issues scraping them.
