i never heard anything like that


luckly it really didnt do any damage other than burning my air filter. I am very thankful for fire extingushers.

tommy martin? i'm pretty sure he got a red 2.0t and i think with dsg or whatever i'm not sure though why? mike would definately know, mike is good friends with that kid.

wow your car caught on fire?? thats why i say its always better to start with a turbo car and stay turbo'd then going from n/a to turbo unless you are like replacing everything. i bet your car is fun to drive though when it is running

yeah i made the mistake of not venting my hood, and the carpet liner under the hood caught on fire and then my intake sucked it in. luckly I just need to replace the filter. other than that my car felt really fast and was hitting 148 in the straight.

We were at Audi on Saturday and I just was wandering the lot and saw them. I remembered you said someone got one, I was just wondering if it was a 2.0t manual, DSG, or 3.2 quattro

Do you have oil temp, coolant, EGT gauges? If you're underhood temps are getting hot enough to catch the hood insulation on fire ... that's a bit extreme!

Is the car tuned with an AEM or something else?

Its on aem. we found a crack in the manifold which why is we think it caught on fire. I do have aem serial guage that will be going in this week.

Ya, I can remember coming around the corner and seeing Brandon out of his car in the middle of the track fire extinguisher in hand. First thought was what the heck is this kid doing!? Then I saw his car smoldering! I seem to remember him saying “gee, I hope my car doesn't catch on fire.” Bummer for sure! Ebay manifold FTL!!! Time for the new Turbo Lab super manifold!
