Translation: (although I didn't it was all that hard to decipher) Ogden-area Evolution drivers speak up and let's meet somewhere on the weekend, for an unofficial Evo gathering.

Now, if you want to really be confused, read my sig.

Riley: the only thing I can tell you is the same thing my dad told me: remember, the coilover that Robi is putting on your car is what HE sells... And from someone who sponsors HIM. So... That's half of what you should consider.

i am so lost on the whole suspension thing haha. i just want to get the best buy for the money and robi seems to be giving me a good deal do you think the kw's are good? your a track racer what have you seen that you like that you would recommend for around 2k. robi was going to get me the coilovers, bump steer kit, control arm bushings, install align and corner balance for $2600 which seems good to me. give me some feedback. i was also looking at the muellerized jic's. it seems that everyone on the forums likes the kw's a lot...

Well both Robi and Vesko say the JICs are junk... If I were you I'd ask Vesko, he's not selling any suspension, he'd just be the guy you'd have set it up... But you can't beat the ease of having Robi just do it all for 2600, though I will admitt that in PMs with me he said mine would be 2800 just for the coilovers. The key thing most of them will tell you is that the actual coilovers don't matter as much, just the valving and set-up etc.

How much bumpsteer kits, control arm bushings, etc etc adds is something I couldn't tell you, they made the S2000 great, but it wasn't AWD and it needed the extras.

to dumbass nubs on track.
I agree, that is lame. Although i thought it was cool of him to want to cover your expenses, its lame that he backed out. I know he is an exec member, so seems like money isn't really the issue, unless mmp hit him up for the fix on the rental.

Go karts are toys. Come on Mike, grow a pair! Or at least when you're 18, come out and race real cars.

I have read horror stories, but not involved in on myself. You know, due to the horror stories.

Ever heard you get what you pay for? Coilovers for less than $3k have to be pretty budget. I mean, my Teins were just over $3k, and i like them, but they are no means the best.

If Vesko has time for you, hit him up. Although, he will probably direct you towards the Teins, there is a reason that most of his cars are running them. We're talking full race cars. Of course he has custom valving and spring rates.

I'm not here to sell Teins, but Adam and I run them, and very few people pass us on the track. And we only make like 100 awhp.

yah i loved the way your car felt when i was riding in it but i dont have that kind of money i am just looking for a reasonable setup that will meet but not exeed my needs and newbish driving abilitys. i figure the money is better spent in learning how to drive my car. i have vesko's number and i'll give him a call and see what he has to say.

Hopefully one of them will be me. My wheels, tires, and suspension will be in sometime this summer.

Christian,
1. You have a PM and you know who I am.

2. To clear it up for all, I was not questioning you, persay, as I've known you long enough to know that you directly saying the car would make XXX WHP on a dynojet is not your typically character. I was more or less questioning if you directly said it would make a certain power or if it was simply that the owner interpreted that as some real kind of correlation.

3. Load based, inertia based, variable load, calibration...yadda yadda yadda all covered above in previous posts and was exactly why I said they can not be compared. While your dyno may be accurately calibrated, MOST are not. Hense, there is no direct correlation that can be made.

I would recommend a monotube high quality coilover for you.

Like the new Tein monoflex. They look pretty sweet!!

I know where you can get them but I am very biased

Oh don't worry, I'm sure you boys will see plenty of me on the big track this year, just promise me you won't be mad when the lap records seem to be getting lower...

You'll need some good suspension and tires for that first Mike... Rather than a whole lotta hp and a whole notta traction.

Zack, I was pretty interested in trying out the road course, but with talk of swapping paint.... I don't know.

What's a good way to try out MMP without a good chance of screwing up my car from collisions?

This is just a hobby for me, so trying to beat everybody around a track is of little importance to me.

The next event I'm going to is going to be the lapping days on the 23rd. I want full instruction on the East track. This was great when I did it last year(West Track), cost 350.00 but you get an instructor in your car if you want. For anyone worried about smashing your car I believe this would be your lowest risk. From what I have heard in most cases when someone gets their car damaged its the drivers own fault not someone else.
