It's like an ugly child that's so hideous it's actually quite beautiful. I bet the design will be a huge hit in Europe.

And that makes me defective how, because I have a different opinion? The SST is not the end-all best transmission. This alone means you cannot say it is superior to other transmissions as to be superior, you must by definition be the best. Is it a good option? Hell yes but it's not for everyone. If I was in the market for an evo or the ralliart, I would want a 5-speed. Why? Because I prefer a traditional manual. It doesn't mean the SST is crap or anything like that, it simply means it's not for me.

I find it funny how the "ugly horse" is faster than most of the cars driven by members in this thread.

Well a mini-van full of kids going to soccer practice is faster than my GTS but at least it's easy on the eyes. You're right about the power thing though and it's a good thing Subie gave it some power because if they were going on looks alone they'd be screwed.

Considering how well the new impreza is selling, plenty of people seem to like it just fine. Granted it's not the most aggressive looking in the world but you can't argue with performance figures.

No specific numbers of the WRX. Or do u have numbers?
Probably we´ll see (if they care to reveal) how the 09 wrx outsells the 08.
Would that mean that the 08 was lacking key atributes as seen on the magazine reviews....probably.

Talking about perfomance figures, we´ll, achieving those will depend on the skills and the guts of the driver, and how many times u go race other people, which is few considering the time u just go to drive the car to get u to point A to B.
Problem is, 100% of thetime u will have the looks on your car so people admire or reject your car, u will have the tech and comfort features that distinguish your car from others (and make it better and superior) , reliability of the car is another very important feature 100% of the time as well..... but in what percentage will it be a 0-60 time of 5.4secs for example when u have to achieve it using a hard launch? How many hard launches u will have thru the life of your car? and for what purpose and to go against who and to win what? for the majority of the buyers is out of question. I say if u are not a drag racer or track racer 0-60 time of 5.4 secs vrs 5.6secs would not be too much difference thru the life of the car, other aspects will definitely be more important.
Do not , by any means, consider that I do not like or care about perfomance and their numbers, and we all love fun and speed, but it is from a bigger perspective.
Again its just my opinion,

I see it related as in people buying 4X4 SUVS, but how many of them really go off-road and use and abuse the car? as seen on many reviews, saying 10% would be high.

Those things apply to the Ralliart as well, how many 5.6 second launches do you think the SST can take?
As far as looks are concerned, it's very personal, some people will love it, some won't. I don't find myself looking at my car that often. I only really pay attention when I'm walking to my car and when I'm walking away from my car.

i dont mind what the car looks like, i cant see the outside from the driving position, i just want performance and comfort for cheap, ie WRX, 3MPS or RA, all of which have there good and not soo good aspects

btw the WRX isnt that ugly, seen it a few times in RL and i wouldnt mind one, also it ****s all over the civic type R in looks

i dont know why you guys are so worried about looks of the 09 WRX.

it's not like you'll be able to see it since you wont even be able to keep up with it.

but on a serious note,
looks are subjective. i've gotten nothing but good comments from my STi. it actually gets me nervous when i'm in a restaurant looking out the Window at my car, and i see people walking buy checking it out lookin at it up and down like it's some specimen. but then again, it's an STi now a WRX...

but honestly, the new WRX is lookin a lot more like the STi (just minus flares.)

people tend to be checking out everything is unusual or weird looking.

LOL. that is also possible...
u know wut i notice a lot when people are checkin out my car when it's parked... they have a tendancy to look into the hatch. maybe to check out the space?

but neway, i've gotten numerous "nice car comments", some examples...
i was driving on the highway traffic... and some old dude in some old mazda stick his head out the window was like "hey! COOL CAR" with a thumbs up. and i had another dude in a g35 also on the highway was lookin at me... i look over and he "nice car man... real nice" and gave me a thumbs up. then i was parked outside the gym i go to... and some dude walks up "hey man... didnt realize what this was until i walked up to it. these subaru's are lookin bad@$$ now arent they? nice car" and another thumbs up...

it aint that ugly.
