drive a plain jane impreza wagon and im pretty sure youll be incognito.

anyways the sedan is growing on me. ive seen quite a few lately.
i thought the sedan was ugly, until i saw one on the highway. looks pretty good. kinda corolla-ish, but it is beefier.

Subaru's are always like that. when you first see pictures of it... ur like.. "damn.. it's ugly." but then it grows on u.

but neway, i've gotten numerous "nice car comments", some examples...
i was driving on the highway traffic... and some old dude in some old mazda stick his head out the window was like "hey! COOL CAR" with a thumbs up. and i had another dude in a g35 also on the highway was lookin at me... i look over and he "nice car man... real nice" and gave me a thumbs up. then i was parked outside the gym i go to... and some dude walks up "hey man... didnt realize what this was until i walked up to it. these subaru's are lookin bad@$$ now arent they? nice car" and another thumbs up...

it aint that ugly.
not that ugly for sure. Certainly for me. I was checking the 08 STI out for over 10 days.
But i got reasons why i didn't go with the STI. And that wasn't a look for sure.
I was getting the white one. I had a good idea /at least i think/ how i will hook it up. So wouldn't be stock looking anyway. Maybe for a week.

either way, you made a good choice. Evo X is a very sick car. just the STi had things that fit my preferences.

but on a serious note,
looks are subjective. i've gotten nothing but good comments from my STi. it actually gets me nervous when i'm in a restaurant looking out the Window at my car, and i see people walking buy checking it out lookin at it up and down like it's some specimen. but then again, it's an STi now a WRX...

but honestly, the new WRX is lookin a lot more like the STi (just minus flares.)
LOL......touche.
Yes I agree that looks are definitely subjective. Some people can find aesthetic beauty in almost anything. How else can you explain all those Monte Carlo SS
and new Focus drivers?
I just have to think it's never a good sign that a company (Subaru) fires their chief of design months before the release of their bread and butter car (WRX) because of his 'poor judgment'.

People always hate the new model. I can remember when people were complaining about the evo 8 (oh my god, what the hell is that triangle?!), the evo 9 (oh my god, where the hell is the triangle?!) and the evo X (oh my god, it's so fat and not like an evo at all). Eventually people get used to it and like the change.

Well it's not like the Evo X isn't without its detractors, there was a while when literally every thread in the Evo X forums were filled with criticisms and harsh comments.

The first two of those cars are actually pretty popular with Asian and European countries, which probably helped propelled the hatchback design (which I like a lot, actually)

I think Subaru's decision to go towards a hatchback was to be more competitive in WRC. apparently Subaru was getting whooped... by other hatchbacks.

the new WRX is going to stomp on the Ralliarts numbers now... its going to become much closer in performance with the MS3 in terms of acceleration due to the power increase. Subaru claims 0-60 in 5.4 which means it can do it even fast is my guess due to companies low balling there times. As for looks i think the gray wheels and the new front/rear look nice and are now very close to the STI's body. Its going to be a hard pick between the RA and the WRX for me now when it used to be a no brainer with the 08 WRX, so this means subaru did its job with the new WRX. Down sides of the WRX will be ****ty nav unit, non recaro seats, no RFS sound system and in my taste it not the best looking car... So we shall see Just my 2 cents of the day

The big selling point for me of the RA is the SST. My next car is going to be my daily driver so I don't want a second stick. Like I said earlier in this thread, if the 09 WRX had a dual clutch setup I'd highly consider it over the RA. It's looking like the 09 WRX will beat the RA in all the performance number categories considering the 08 WRX was already on par or close with the RA.
