I got it figured out as mrfred suggested it was due to my own error......while I entered all the values in correctly I forgot to change the scaling on the map sensor section, oops.

Took re-doing an entirely new rom to spot it - sometimes 3x isnt the charm but the 4th sure is

thanks for the help - I guess everyone has a bonehead moment from time to time.

danl you can call and flame me later - I know you will

Got my JDM map sensor in today. Car feels different. Its almost hard to explain... I took some logs I haven't really reviewed them thoroughly yet. Car appears a bit richer. But - I can feel it in the gas pedal itself. It seems more resistant. Heavier. Car seems smoother tho. Not so flinchy. It doesn't feel any slower overall.

I just found it odd. It was such a slight change... like your seat being one click out of your normal position.

I always had a problem with lift off A/F oscillation after a WOT pull. The A/F would just bounce ala' antilag at complete random and not coasting fuel cut. It does not do this at all now. Makes me wonder if I don't have some form of EGR problem doing this mod uncovered. Since you have to modify the EGR tables as part of this install. I guess its time to finally remove the EGR. And find out.

Any of you notice any changes in the cars behavior? However slight?

if your running richer then perhaps you have a boost leak...

I installed the sensor and now I can't read the the car's ecu, after I used the word pad to add the text in the 88590013.xml files and then made the adjust. I can't read the ECU with ECUFLASH.

Is this related to the mod or is it something else? I will try to put everything back to stock and then try to read it again.

There's an error somewhere in what you added to the xml file.

Will recheck.

I am suppose to use frontpage or is word pad fine for editing .xml files?

This is what I get from EcuFlash

[12:05:08.489] sending init sequence 1 (0001)
[12:05:11.753] sending init sequence 1 (0003)
[12:05:15.028] sending init sequence 1 (FFFF)
[12:05:17.792] no response to any known code

That's not what I was expecting. Did you modify the ROM file yet? Or did that happen only after adding the new definitions for ECUFlash.

Word Pad is fine as long as it saves the file as text. My favorite program for text file editing on the PC is Textpad. Much nicer interface. I think there is a free "lite" version.

Not sure yet, will undo the changes in the xml file and try to connect to the car. Hope fully it will remedy the problem. Then I will try to edit it with the recommended program.

Having trouble getting this to work with 96530006 (euro 2005 rom). I used the code for the 2005 USDM ROM (96940011) and came out with this:

Any idea how to get this to work?

dude - why on earth would you think that something for 96940011 would work with 96530006?

I just took my JDM map out and put my US map back, now the car is showing an error, it reads as "69" and I was told that's with the MAP sensor, any clue as to why this is happening?

I did change all of the variables again back to the US map variables and still no luck. Anyone have any suggestions?

You missed one of the settings. P0069 indicates the MAP/Baro comparison test. I'll send a picture in a few minutes.

I was just trying it! mrfred seemed very confident that it would work, but I wasn't sure what exactly the outcome would be by trying these settings.

mrfred, any chance you'll have time to figure out the proper settings for this and direct boost control for the 96530006 rom? Got my sensor, ready to test!

Sorry, you missed the periphery setting that controls whether the P0069 test is run.

Go to the "ECU Periphery2" value and change it from B980 to F980. You'll need to enter it as 0xF980.
