The one in the Evo directory that's named with your ROM ID followed by ".xml".

Go to X:\program files\ecuflash\definition\mitsubishi\evo

Backup the entire folder before you start replacing anything.

Open the .Xml file you downloaded here in notepad. then copy the code to the Definition file.

Messege me on AIM if you need any more help.

Do what I did. Add a bright led next to the gauge pod pillar. One wire to ignition + and one to pin number 36 on the ecu. Works great for me.

Thats a good question, I think they are VERY similar.

Check this out: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=259595

mrfred might be able to help you as he did this mod and looked at the 94170014/15 ROM closer than me.

Weird Values After Patching

I updated my 88590015.xml with patch code but I'm getting weird values...the Cel Flash on Knock dialgue box on the is my current flash, the one on the right from the file provided from this thread. Not sure why ECUFlash is reading the patch rom correctly and not my current flash...any help?

I'm assuming I can just change the values using Set Value e.g., 0x1 for "Flash CEL on Knock?" Right?

You'll have to load all your settings (immobilizer code, timing, fuel, etc) into the patched rom and flash it to your car. You will not be able to use your existing ROM if you want it to flash your CEL upon encountering knock activity. Only the patched ROM, or ROM based on the patched ROM will do this.

Ok...I'll try that...just curious, if I'm overwriting the patched ROM with my current flash, than how do I know I'm not altering the "patch" on the patch ROM? Comparing both ROMs in a Hex editor as I start to copy my settings into the patch ROM, they both, of course, begin to look the same. So where's the "patch?"

All the setting are now correct...flash to the ECU went fine...I'll test in the morning...so, more to follow.

Due to popular request from a few members... here is what you need to do for the less computer inclined

First you need to identify what defintion your flash is. You can do this by opening it in ECUFLASH and under Rom info tree and looking at the Internal ID.

Then depending on which you have u need to download the one from the thread. For instance mine was 96940011.

Then you need to open the C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\evo

and look for the one that you have. Then open it in notepad.

Open the definition you downloaded from the thread and copy everything there between the first "<" and the last "/>"

Then paste it in the the definition file you found in the folder just before "</rom>" and after "</table>"

Then open the .bin file you downloaded and copy all the information from your flash on your ECU to each map in the new .bin. ie. timing high/low. octane high/low and of course the immbolizer.

Flash the ECU and it should work.
