Thanks for trying to be involved

Why would I pay $65 to get numbers that will come up within 10whp of what a specific dyno reads? It is like the DJ to Mustang controversy

I never said anything about tuning or knowing if it's safe, I'm talking only about claimed dyno numbers here.

That is your choice, if you're happy with "close enough" then good, but do not attempt to claim them as actual/factual dyno results.

My numbers in my signature are true Dynojet readings. I have never posted up a Virtual Dyno graph and claimed it as real.

5 year loan at 2.99% fixed rate is 1.11 a month. I'll loan it to you at a 10 years with 1.55% rate increasing to 21.5% after 3 years. Early termination fee of $150.00.

Question? I've been tuned on dyno dynamics 3 times and have had road tune 4 times and guys we are talking about a minimal margin of wheel horsepower difference. Also most dynos other than dynojet is gonna give you diff numbers anyway. so what's the big deal if you are strapped down to a machine because for most its the only way to tune or load tune into vd for results? Technically most dynos aren't gonna give you actual numbers that's not the intent of a dyno anyways.

1. A real Dyno shows accurate numbers of progression. Starting with a baseline and showing improvements is a more fair and accurate representation of what your parts and tuner are really capable of. Tuning a car with a make believe software becomes just silly, especially when people use absurd weights, tire sizes to boost numbers.. Its happened too many times.

2. Street tuning is illegal...what I mean to say is that most street tuners tune from a 3rd gear pull. Well I don't care which highway or street your on your doubling or even tripling the posted limits, endangering people lives etc etc...

3. Its just too cheap to put a car on a dyno and do it safely.

I don't care to get into the real vs virtual dyno debate, but I do want to point out that there is nothing "make believe" about the algorithms to calculate whp and tq in Virtual Dyno. Its simple physics, in fact very simple physics that can be found in any Physics 101 text book. The only questionable aspect is whether people are using it under the right conditions and are using accurate input values.

We still talking about Ef turbo here?
Dyno isn't always an option. I work almost daily and closest dyno is 2hrs away.

You can show progression with virtual dyno by saving runs and loading them on top of each other to compare.

I should have rephrased that statement.. I'll digress. The next part of my statement about people raising weights and tires sizes to boost numbers is what I was referring. I agree that if the software is programmed correctly and no fraudulent data is entered, then I'm sure it can be accurate.

Dyno numbers are for tuning and Dyno queens. I have seen inflated numbers from every Dyno type. Unfortunately many do miss use VD, some on purpose and others on accident. I feel that when possible the VD numbers should be backed up by a second Dyno to verify the final results. I am sure that we all feel that track times say more though.

Some people do not have a Dyno near them. I am lucky enough to have a few. I still use virtual Dyno. I have found it (when used correctly, which should be understood) to be within about 5whp of Alamo's dynojet in Arlington. I have posted it up in the VD thread a long time ago. While helping diagnose some findings before an old release was put up a long time ago.

I use the program simply for tuning though. Establishing a baseline and monitoring improvements or losses. I make multiple runs to make sure the results are consistent. I like to do it at the local 8th mile drag strip. Nice and flat to make runs. If not I go out on the Texas country highways and make sure not to got to fast.
