My buschur racing pump gas evo
Yes, for sure 94awdcoupe is a Buschur hater.
94awdcoupe,
Here is the place you should be: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...255215&page=19
The difference between you and me is I am out here doing this stuff everyday. You are just trolling the forums looking for something to bust my ***** about. Why don't you finish one project of your own. Get your half assed meters and half assed testing underway. Maybe then you will personally have something to contribute rather than a bunch of trash talking about what I am constantly doing, making power and providing real testing and real results.
I will answer your question about why there aren't more cars like this though. YOU think there are good tuners all over this country. I will take back what I said, maybe there are GOOD tuners all over this country, but a good tuner isn't going to get the job done. A GREAT tuner is going to be needed and there are NOT GREAT tuners all over the country. There are tons of guys that can open the laptop and get your car running so you can drive it around. I guess being able to do that is a GOOD tuner. The other problem is there is a VERY short list of EVO's that have been built properly and it takes a properly built combination to achieve this type of power on pump gas-safely.
Yes, I am in fact promoting the fact that over 500 whp can be on our low reading dyno and that 10's with trap speeds of over 134 mph can be achieved, all on 93 octane. Whether or not YOU think it is a "smart" thing to do does nothing but makes me laugh. That I guess puts you into the GOOD catagory, at best.
As for my signature, I'd have changed it the day our record got beat but I am actually leaving it as is from lack of changes made when we broke the record. I figure another 6-7 months if we still haven't gotten it back I will start making some changes.
Now, go do your intercooler testing, it's LONG over due.

David Buschur is the best 4G63 tuner and this is why he does things that others can not understand and also cant not duplicate
i take no sides, but a lot of what he said is the truth, david change your ****, most 35r pump gas cars are in the 400's, enough said, but those cars are also usually conservatively tuned.
Otherwise wouldnt the gt35r be considered the pump gas king?? If we could all have that much power on pump we would, most consider the 20g or 50 trim pump gas kings, a gt 35r is a race gas turbo, or better said a high psi turbo, but hey thats my .02c, take it for what its worth.

intake manifold? which cams? head work (makes a huge difference) etc...
not arguing with anyone just saying...
i know our car conservatively does 450whp with good torque 340-365 on pump and low boost (21.5-23).... knock free on the stock ecu.. and our dyno reads similar to daves... but we have a big cylinder head.... custom ground cams.. ported intake mani, big tbody etc etc etc...
-------------------
i could see a car making over 500....
I am missing the joke it seems
Are you alsways LOL or is it just a habit ?
Thanks

im just a happy cheery guy.... usually cracking up... if you saw the characters that work here with me youd understand....
JRod can vouch for that
(lol... just for you)cb
BTW just to add in
At every race I attend - I take data logs of my engine and email them to David who then makes the adjustments for each pass
Since I have been following this procedure my engine has remained 100% reliable with no problems
I have seen and felt the results of his tuning
I am a very good tuner and I know evo and subaru reflashes very well
David Buschur is a genious tuner and knows high whp 4g63 applications as good or better than anyone else - he is simply the best and has the most experience
Just my two cents

Jeez.... I didnt even know you ran your car Trent. I guess you miss some things when you take a couple of days off. I cant believe you guys are in the shop here with me and holdin out on a brother like that. lol
Congrats mang!

I am going to come there and visit you some day to see for myself
I have this mental image of you working on that clean floor that I cant get out of my fat brain
lol
Hopefully you will come and run your car at the DSM shootout in Ohio on the 18th of August
Jrod has been to visit your facility ? Cool

yeah... im waiting on a floor scrubber... my floor is dirty from being mopped every other day

maybe we will come in august... do you want to see me grenade my 6speed box?!?! lol...
id like to run the car with around 600whp on the stock ecu.... would be interesting...
(sorry to hog trents thread)
cheers

call me a buschur hater all you want if tat makes you happy. But to say I dont play with these cars every day is just an ignorant lack of fact. rather than challenge the facts he would prefer to just bash a persons character. nothing ever changes I guess.
here are more facts. well setup 35r car will make 625whp-650whp on race gas. On straight 93 octane florida gas it will struggle to make 450whp. my own personal car just made 622whp on 93/meth. without the meth running it was only able to muster 380whp before knock was present. my car is not the ideal example for this because it is setup to make enormous power early in the rpm band, when you make big power in the 4-5000rpm and it will be hard to keep detonation at bay. my car makes 567 tq. high torque/hp ratio means you are making high cylinder pressure early in the rpm band. far from ideal for making big pumpgas numbers. this is with crappy 93octane and meth injection. There are 3 large restrictions in my setup to make the car fun to drive rather than make the best whp. Those include a very quiet exhaust, a restrictive 8 runner intake manifold, a nearly stock head, and a 95 stock exhaust manifold. this is also on an early 4g63 that certainly lacks some of the other smaller improvements that came with later 4g63 evos.
not wanting to remove your incorrect statement of your car being the fastest is typical dave buschur attitude. if he wants to lie about being the fastest to achieve higher sales where do the lies start and stop?
There are all kinds of posts of evos making well over 600whp on 35r. Their pump gas numbers are always in the 450whp range because that is the practical limits of 93 ocatne. For a shop to say its easy to make over 550whp on 93octane is again worth repeating, DUMB.

I highly doubt that David Buschur would provide a unsafe tune for Trent; considering they are friends.
Not long ago an Evo in the 9's was thought to be a huge feat. Turbotrix broke 9's, and now we have daily driven 9 second Evo's (David Buschur's RS), AMS & Buschur are both in the 8's, and AMS has built I believe 2 1,000 awhp Evo's.
Over time developments can be made to improve the efficiency of anything.
Your last line paragraph showed me that David Buschur, Al Friedman, and Chad Block RD know a lot more about the 4G63 and tuning than you.
94AWDCoupe...
How exactly are you listening for knock? Have you tried running a GT35R on pump gas up to about 30 psi? What timing were you able to achieve at this load? What power did it make? Have you proved without a doubt that you've found the right balance of boost / timing which make the most power for a GT35R on pump fuel? What were your intake air and coolant temps? I noticed you used an earlier DSM as an example, is it possible an evo has better anti-knock characteristics? What ECU do you generally use?
David Buschur...
Can I ask, how do you listen for knock when tuning? Do you rely solely on the AEM knock control? How would you tune an ECU without knock control out of the box like Autronic, Motec, etc?
I understand some of this is trade secrets, but there are a lot of people out there tuning their own cars, and it would be of great benefit to all of us to hear how the big boys do their work.
Also, do you think it is possible you could run more boost than 28 PSI on Trent's car on just 93? Did you try running more boost / less timing and find that it made less power?
