Yes i do, also remember it all depends on your supporting mods and tune, i did 440hp on old Hks 272 cams on 93oct. i think 400 is not hard to do with this turbo even with light mods.

I have some pretty nasty reviews of this turbo on other evo sites. They were from February of this year but regardless. People saying it went in a few hundre to 1000 miles makes me kinda skeptical. I really like the price of it but I rather not buy it then have to turn around and get another. Has anyone on here had any bad reviews of this turbo? I haven't seen one yet.

wonder if i should just get a used evo 9. get the compressor cover and wheel kit. get the tdo6 turbine wheel and machine the the housing. probably wouldnt be a whole lot of price difference. How long ago did your failure happen? all the ones i read about were from the beginning of this year. wonder if they made any revisions.

If you search for turbo failure here you will find a lot of different turbo manufacturers have had several failures on their turbos also, even turbos that cost 3 times as much as this one, no turbo manufacturer is gonna be 100% problem free 100% of the time, imo you shouldn't base your purchase decision solely on the experience of a few, i personally know of several of my tuning customers throuh out the U.S. that own this turbos that are still working reliably even at thigh boost, i personally beat on my car every day at 30 psi and 510hp and the turbo is still going strong with no signs of early wear, i should be installing the billet wheel some time next week, when i do it will be rebuilt by a proffesional local turbo repair facility at which time i will take pictures of the internals to asses the condition of such after the abuse i've put it through already.

Evo 7 what do you think caused the issued. Bad balancing? Did you prime the turbo before you installed it? Is your feed line from the head? Where should we be feeding this turbo from? My thoughts would be directly off the filter housing.Where do feed from VIII driver?

I bought their oil feed line kit and the adapter fitting from Level 42 Designs, the oil feed is straight from the oil filter housing, i as a rule of thumb never use the stock feed port, too little oil pressure imo.

yes i installed in correctly and primed it etc , im a diesel mechanic so i've installed dozens of turbo's with out an issue until now .My guess is the oil seal failed. My oil feed is comming off the head with the supplied banjo bolt and line.

I don't see a reason why i should run the oil feed line from the filter housing as factory evo's run there lines from the head with out issues.Should be fine with it comming from the head.

just got an email regarding my turbo failure and they found a fault with the piston ring diameter on the bearing housing and apprently it was a known issue with these turbo's.Mine was an old stock one which i was not meant to get so they are sending me a new CHRA .Pretty good customer service.

When a turbo is pushed out well out of it's efficiency range the axial and radial forces acting on the turbine shaft as well as heat are way greater than "stock" making the need for better lubrication well warranted, the turbo needs more oil pressure to counteract this forces and help stabilise the shaft and bearings specially if high boost is in the menu, the stock location oil feed is more than adequate for stock boost levels on a stock turbo, not for a high boost high load high heat set up, the stock turbo oil feed port is the very last lubrication port in the whole engine , meaning the oil has to make it's way from the oil pan all the way to the pump, crank, head, cams and then the turbo, which is the reason why i wouldn't trust the very last source of oil pressure in my engine to feed my turbo, also the reason why FP will not warranty their turbos unless you run their oil feed line which feeds straight from the pump.

This is all good news im going to go ahead and purchase one. On the note of the feed its cheap insurance. The line is only 40 some bucks and worth not risking another failure. Your a diesel tech, almost all diesels run high boost and were do they always run there feed lines? Screen filtered off the oil filter housing. At least on the internationals, im a diesel tech aswell

I'm in the process of ordering the 25g /w billet right now. Was considering the 20g at first since I'm only trying to make ~400whp but I figured I'd leave a little room for the future. Will this cost me some spool response time?

It's going to be run on 91oct, HKS 272 cams, ported intake /w foam filter & ported exhaust with 3" turboback straight pipe.

Can anyone recommend an intake pipe that fits up to the 3.25" opening?
Any recommendations on where to purchase the oil feed line that goes directly from the pump?
