I just had all 4 replaced by my dealer under warranty last week. They said that the IX's don't have this problem , and that's what he ordered me. They do look awesome new, I hope they never peel. When I pulled up to show them my problem, the service manager said I'll order all 4 before I even got out of the car. He looked at just one caliper.

I had to talk with the district warranty rep to get mine replaced. The local service manager said it was my fault because I used wheel cleaner on my car. I said, "There was now adverse warnings in the owners manual". I just went with the fronts but I also got a new wing cause mine was begining to develop a haze in the clear coat of the carbon fiber.

If you still have warranty left, raise hell!!

The dealer I went with said I needed to talk to the district rep. I had to schmooze him once I talked to him, but I told him the truth that I don't clean my wheels with anything but "Dawn"!
I'm not surprised Mitsu doesn't help us because the retail for all 4 calipers is around $3K and I can't imagine Brembo being too happy to replace all of these calipers!!!

Careful, Mitsu might claim your DEFI gauges caused it!

Sadly, this is the **** we have to go through lol. God damned dealerships, JUST LOOKING for a way to not cover your car.

I haven't noticed any peeling on my 06 IX GSR yet. It's been a year now. I gotta have the car washed and then really look into it. I'll check back into here.

here are what peeling calipers look like. also, you can see these are brownbos now.

notice the peeling has just started. mine actually held up pretty good for a while without peeling. but they are definately no longer red. they have about 6-7 track days, and a good 10-20 autocrosses.

i don't care about getting them warranteed as they new ones will just do the same thing.

Tune and warranty

If I get a custom tune on my stock evo ix can the tune be deleted or put back to stock if I need warranty work?

Or is it if you tune it there is no going back and the dealer will know?

My plans were MBC and TUNE and if I NEEDED any warranty work I could take those things off and be stock. Possible?

Thanks

If you get the tactrix cable then yes. Save your stock maps. Then when you get tuned save the new maps. Then just swap your car back to stock and then put in your stock maps

Unhappy Need advice: Rear spoiler & warranty

03 Evo, 12,700 miles, bought used
Went to the dealership for rear spoiler discoloration and peeling.
They took pics and sent to distr. rep.
They called me back and said, your warranty expired in Sept. But they would pay for the part, if i paid the installation labor and painting cost.
That would total around $300 by the sound of it. They would not just give me the part, to paint and install myself.
Its obvious that this didn't just happen in the last couple weeks, this has been progressing for about 4 months or more.

Any thoughts or advice?
Thanks
