good luck on making another lawyer rich.

So far I have read threads like this on the EvoM, nasioc, I-club, bmw forums, audi forums, etc...

all dealers suck, all car manufactures don't care about product quality, bla bla bla...

If you don't like the car, sell it.

Me, I have had no significant problems after 50k miles. Please make sure to point out how reliable my EVO has been in your proceedings..

The only time it would be advantageous to the dealership is if their mechanics are sitting on there thumbs getting paid for nothing.

Better hope MMNA doesn't research this website and some of the posts here as part of their defense, or you'll be screwed big time. i.e. researching non-Mitsu approved fluids for vital drivetrain components.....
See, this is why warranties really **** me off. I recently purchased an '03 Lancer OZ Rally with the remaining 60k warranty, and I also purchased an extended 45k mile warranty. First time I went in for warranty work, I got a load of bull****. You PAY for the extended warranty, so they make their money there. It's rediculous that its such a hassle. Never buying a Mitsubishi AGAIN :

Yesterday I went in to get my Brembos changed out under warranty and was denied, with the reason they still work. This is unacceptable and I am filing a lawsuit, I have 2 attorneys researching the case and seeing if they want to take it at the moment.

If you have been denied warranty work for the following, and are interested in joining the lawsuit please let me know.

Brownbos - Paint peeling on your Brembo Calipers
Fabric coming loose on seats
Spoiler blistering / clear coat coming off
rear panels where the passenger doors close - rusting
Anything else not mentioned please mention - these are just the things wrong with my car they won’t cover.

other examples that are common problems but not on mine,
driver / passenger seat cracking

These are all items that modifications cannot be argued nor do they have a valid reason not to warranty the item.

If you have had the following troubles and where denied warranty work we might have a harder time but its worth a shot. Only mention these if your car did not have modifications that would weaken the case.

Such as - If you had a BOV and your tranny started grinding this is valid. However if you had cams, ecu, etc and then it started grinding this is what we DONT want.

Tranny
Transfer Case

These are the two most common problems but if you have something specific please speak up.

I have not discussed payment or any other option with the attorney yet, however if we can get 200+ involved in this and each donate 20 dollars this will be more than adequate to compensate them for there work!

Only constructive comments at this time, my idea is to have 200+ EVO's line up at the courthouse as a showing of unity.

As soon as I get an attorney signed on I'm then going to contact the local news stations + 60 minutes ETC.

Everyone’s help + ideas are more than appreciated lets join together and instead of complaining lets make a change! We all have something different we can bring to the table, and together we can fight and win this!

Thanks for your time,

Michael Staton
the 60 mins idea is usually out of the question, i'm in media analysis class right now and the trend for 60min is for big "hard" news, (soft being small crimes and deaths, and hard being identity theft that effects millions of people), local news stations would take the offer though prob and maybe some car tv shows out there might show some support, same with SEMA. If you gonna go though with this, i say you make a donation fund casue i would contribute

I Haven't Had Any Problems With My Evo. Thank God!!!!!!!! But The Clear Coat Of The Carbon Fiber Piece Of My Wing Was Fading And Chipping, And I Took To The Dealership That I Bought It From And They Got Me A Brand New Wing Under The Warranty. So Good Luck Man.

I just want to point out that calipers turning brown and clear coat pealing are two diffirent issues. Calipers turning brown is due to extreme temps such as seen on the race track. Every caliper Brembo, Wilwood, etc. will change color from track usage. I do not agree that Mitsu or Brembo should be responsible for your calipers turning brown. If you don't want them brown, don't go to the race track.

However, the clear coat pealing that turns the calipers pink where calipers have not been exposed to extreme temps should be covered as this is clearly a defect.

Maybe a more correct term for you to use would be Pinkbos not Brownbos.

I also feel that the root of the problem stems from the inconsistency of warratny coverage as seen in this thread. Some people are getting calipers replaced due to clear coat pealing and some are not. Some are getting their wings replaced and some are not. Why? Why is the warranty coverage so incinsistent for the same problems - this makes no sense and that is what is suspicious.

this is my point exactially. the fact that the clearcoat is peeling, calipers turning pink hurts the resale of the car. the mitsu rep said it doesn't hurt the performance of the brakes, well, if all the paint fell off the car after 2 years, it wouldn't hurt the performance of the car either. i have talked to mitsu corp. twice about this... one lame woman hung up on me, and a supervisor told me to get a hearing with the lame dispute resolution process, who ruled in favor of mitsu as i was unable to present any evidence of other owners around the country having theirs replaced under warranty. i am really pissed about this and i'm not sure what to do next.

I think most of the complaining is related to not warranting cars that are NOT modded or problems NOT at all related to any mods. I dont see anybody complaining about their t-case going out after they put in a exedy triple carbon clutch or something.............

I brought my '04 RS to Huntington Beach Mitsu in SoCal with a very worn gearbox/synchros. They are rebuilding the gearbox under warranty. They didn't say a word about how heavily the car is modified. I even left my extra wheels/track tires, jack, jack stands, tools, etc. in the car.

The service manager was worried about how long the warranty repair would take. He asked me "are you going to the track this weekend?" I said no, take your time.

warranty on sunroof

hey guys i live in marble falls which in like 45 minutes from austin,tx....well i was visiting my sister in san antonio because she is about to go to japan for the next 2 years (shes a doctor in the navy)..... anyways on my way back home i went to close my sunroof and it made some weird clicking noises and then it wouldnt close all the way. so i was pissed because it was supposed to rain here in the next couple of days so i couldnt drive it around. well i call gillman mitsu in austin and they absolutely refuse my service over the phone without even looking at it, blaming it on me for closing it while driving on the highway.....this is not the first time ive had problems with them. so then i call gillman in san antonio where i bought the car, and they said come back and we'll check it out. so i took it in yesterday and they said yes its covered under warranty and they ordered the sunroof motor right then and i go back tomorrow to get it installed.....has anyone else had this problem with their sunroof or with gillman in austin???

Mine won't open sometimes when it is hot and humid until later in the day when the sun is out. Doesn't really effect me here in San Angelo but my car is heading to Korea soon...where every summer day is hot and humid.

So we should not open and/or close our sunroof while on high speed?

apparently thats what the a$$holes at gillman in austin are saying, but they might have told me that because last time my car was there they put dents and scratches in it.....i got in a minor wreck where it messed up the driver side headlight, fender, and cross member......well my abs light would stay on so thats why it was at austin mitsu in the first place.......basically if you want something done right and its under warranty, dont take it to gillman in austin.
