I met with the district rep on tuesday and out of the goodness of his heart he's going to fix my wing, seat, rust spots all on a one time good faith bs. He seriously acted like he was doing me the largest favor in the world, but is not going to replace the calipers. Currently I have 2 different attorney offices who are interested and are supposed to get back to me by Monday

I will not back down, and as soon as I get an attorney I'm going to hit up the media hard so if any one has any strings let me know!

please, feel free to im me if your attorney's want another case... i'm in the same service region as you as well. was the service rep's name bill adams? that was the guy who fought me on my dispute res. thing. complete a**. what irks me the most is that other regions seem to have no issue with replacing the calipers. you may wanna post a thread here, if your att. could use the info, and ask people to post if they HAVE gotten their calipers replaced. dic*head's response in my hearing was that mitsu has only replaced a few sets (he made it sould like 5 cases or something)

Best of luck to you. The District Rep in the Northeast, Gary Cassidy, personally denies tons of warranty claims. I have written MMNA corporate, their customer service center, the BBB, and pretty much every other avenue other than lawsuits. So keep me posted. I'd be in. I have rust spots and used to have caliper issues before I burned the hell out of them and got those notorious Brownbos. But the rust spots were denied. And in 15,440 miles, I've already had to shell out money for the limited slip t-case from Jon at TRE. One of the best mods I have, but still annoying to have to pay for it when Mitsu techs filled mine with the wrong fluid. Good luck with this...

I have a 05 Evo 8, but have not encounter any problems yet. I only have 6000 miles on it. But when I do, if I do and warranty is denied I will join in the class action lawsuit. In making a buying desition the Mitsubishi warranty does make the Evo a good buy but if trouble like this exist, word will get around to the comsumer and people will not buy into Mitsubishi either in their cars or their stock

I can see why Mitsu took sooooo long bringing the evo here.
And with stuff like this, why they'll eventually stop, or make it idiot proof (ie: crap)for the US market.......

Among the classic threads I have seen here

1 - Learning to drive stick with an evo threads
2 - Sixteen year olds driving evos threads
3- I modded my evo and it broke threads
4- How come I can't launch at 7000rpm threads
5 - All Kill threads
6 - All drag racing threads.

Christ - some paint coming off your calipers - get over it!
If Mitsubishi could pick there customers, rather than the customer picking them, they would not have left half of you near an evo............

You got a cheap rocket/rally car - end of story

And how many of you guys used to put you rmods list in your sig's but stopped after warrenty wark was denied?

Go buy a bloody scion next time, and leave the Evo's to people who can both drive and mind them...........

Yes, there are a bunch of posers on this site who mash their cars and then complain when they break. However, you paint with a wide brush. I would say this car is inexpensive, not cheap. And regardless of how much your car costs, if it comes with shiney red calipers they should stay shiney for longer than 2 or 3 years (barring extended time out on a track).

And companies do "pick there [sic] customers." It's called picking a demographic for your product.

For what you get the car is cheap - cheap enough for idiots to get their hands on.
Many owners seem to have no problem keeping the paint on their calipers, so what gives??

I know that 50% of the people on this forum know what they are doing, and are sensible when it comes to their car, and what they expect from it.

The other 50% - I wouldn't let them drive a bloody nail into a wall for me.............

My 2 cents...........

There is an assumption or risk when one starts to mod their cars. You know perfectly well that it could void the warranty. So if you're not prepared for a possible warranty denial, then wait till the warranty is up before you start modding.

so wait 10 years before modding? When the rear spoiler has fading spots the mods have nothing to do with it. The dealerships are the only thing I dislike about Mitsubishi. What will they do when they start selling the Railiart parts? try to viod the warrenty?

I can see the other side of the coin as well. If I break something I will just get a better part and not deal with the warrenty. pay to play

How is it that the spoiler and brakes fade? I find this hard to understand. Is it from parking in the sunlight? I leave my car out in the hot sun of AZ while I'm at work and I haven't had any fading problems. Of course, I put a ton of wax on it to help protect it, but I still haven't had any issues with fading.

Just some small spots on the wing. It looks like its drying out and cracking. I have to leave the evo outside year round. I thought I kept enough wax on it. (last night I drempt that I had a three car garage.)
