You're comparing apples to oranges with that statement. Re-read. I think I've already explained the reasons why I will feel that way although some may not agree.

you said I accidentally slipped the clutch (driver error)

I said I accidentally hit a curb (driver error)

one is a higher magnitude, but a valid comparison.

The big difference is magnitude along with repeatability. Apples to oranges.

If you think that it's okay to fork the money to buy a new stock clutch after spending 30K for a brand new car just because you accidently slip the clutch which took out the clutch then you got $$$$ to waste.

s hit, you're right. my bad. the commerical i saw said ALL wear and tear items were covered, but i just checked BMW's site and it had this..

"Full Maintenance includes items that need replacement due to normal wear and tear, provided wear and tear exceeds BMW specifications. This includes items such as brake pads, brake rotors, and wiper blades that are not covered by the original New Vehicle Limited Warranty"

Point is, I never saw a clutch get "warrantied" despite the 12k mile coverage. It was always flagged as abuse. And honestly, most of the time it probably was abuse, but I know there were a few people who got taken for a ride That's partly why I don't work for them anymore, tired of seeing people get screwed.

Just food for thought.

There is NOTHING wrong with the stock clutches! End of story.

Only if there is a actual defect in the clutch it will be covered up to 12K. Wear and tear is not covered.
