There is NO clutch warranty.

God, whomever thought this one up, needs some serious help.

End of thread.

find out if that clutch warranty is written anywhere in your paperwork and if its not, get the guy who told you that to write it down.

No warranty on clutch? What do you mean? definitely not 50K miles but I thought it was 12month/12K miles?

What happens if there's a clutch failure in 500 miles. too bad, so sad or what

As I said, if it fails due to an actual manufacturer's defect, they will replace it for free. If it is worn, they won't. Any clutch failure below a certain mileage is automatically sent to the regional (or district?) rep for inspection, and they make the determination on whether it is covered or not.

I think only high-end companies like BMW and Mercedes warranty things like that, in their all inclusive service agreements.

wrong. BMW clutches are warretied for 6K miles, just like mitsubishi. And if you think parts and labor are expensive on an evo, don't even look at the cost of a clutch replacement on an E46 M3.

Agreed but what's the pass/no pass criteria. What's consider worn vs manufacturer defect? Glaze on the flywheel? It just goes back to the debate that happened during the 03 Evo.

I don't know about others but I bought a 30K car that was advertise to to be fast with best back warranty and I would like to drive it that way. If I accidently slip the clutch on a stock car too much and it went out I consider that a defect or poor designing by

Just a thought since a lot of people in here thinks stock clutch is the best and it's all driver error or abuse if one fails on a low mileage car.

No, I'm referring to an ACTUAL defect like a spring popping out or the TOB coming off...not the disk wearing down or the flywheel glazing. They would have to take take it apart and find an actual defect, which is very rare.

I figure you was going to say that which takes the clutch warranty down to .01 % of nothing . One of the many reasons why this is my first and last
Also the reason why I don't encourage my friends to get one.

I don't understand how you could feel that way... You're admiting that you screwed up, and you still want them to cover it? Kinda like saying "I was going to fast around a corner hit a curb and broke the lower control arm, and mitsubishi should cover that".

Yes, if your clutch is doing that and you're not launching it, have them look at it.
