From Mitsu's site

Towards the bottom:

*** The 10-year/100,000 mile Powertrain Limited Warranty applies only to the original owner of new, retailed 2005 models. Subsequent owners receive the balance of the New Vehicle Limited Warranty of 5 years/60,000 miles.

At some point the vehicle was driven off of the Mitsubishi Lot. Meaning....Your warrenty is null and void!! =0)

Like they said up above tho .... You should have the remainder of your 3yr/36,000 since you have a 2003. Just dont put any stickers on the windows, it creates a greater effect of wind drag, Hence, Making the car not stock, Voiding your warrenty!!!

Haha that's what i hear. So supposedly what should be covered? I have the messed up clear coat on my wing and brembos. My hvac button is messed up, when I try to either put it all the way cold or hot it goes back to the middle. My gears also grind from time to time. Just to name a few. So are these covered under the used car warranty?

Man, did you look this car over before you bought it? You should have told them to fix all that stuff or you weren't buying. Better yet you should have bought something new if all that stuff was wrong with it. You'd get the the whole warranty and it probably would have only cost you a few thousand more to buy new, and that would have only added another $50-75 more bucks to your monthly.

just my .02

Well I got it from a non mitsubishi dealership and these problems are recent. I wished I would have waited to buy a new one though. I got word of the 0% financing TWO days after I bought the used one. I was kicking my a$$ for a month about it. After interest I could of just gotten an 05 for the same price.

I just bought a new '05 EVO VIII and had a similar discussion with the dealer. He said that in general if the mod didn't cause the problem, there wouldn't be a problem honoring the warranty. In addition, he suggested that if I had any questions I could have any mod either pre-approved or denied (in regards to if it would affect the warranty) before I got it.

You heard from where? Clutches don't get warrantied, because they are wear items. It usually has a limited warranty of 12mos/12k miles and is only replaced if there's an obvious defect in the clutch...not if it's just worn down.

there's no way in hell they'll warrant a wear and tear item like the clutch. . .now the transmission is supposed to get a 10 year 100000mile warranty, as long as you don't void it by adding an aftermarket clutch, flywheel, or modify the engine wherein the exta load could prematurely wear synchros or the LSD or any other transmission related components like the axles, etc. . .

dealer told me the clutch was warrantied for 50k miles. I even said wow 50k miles thats a lot for a clutch. and he replied with something like yeah its a really good warranty.

The reason im asking is because my clutch didnt disengage right. and i saw some smoke coming from the engine. and smelt a lot of clutch. But it's not like i ****ed it up tho either. It's running perfect tho. But im just worried of long term.

Should i take it in? now and have them check it out/fix it? i have 350 miles on the car

You might want to doublecheck with someone else on the so-called "clutch" warranty. I haven't ever heard of something like this. It would be unprecedented.

Yes, if your clutch is doing that and you're not launching it, have them look at it.
