I wouldnt count on it. They might be a little more friendly about it if they do the installs but any big repair needs to get aproved by the district rep anyway.

If you cancel it your refund is prorated, you wont get all your money back. The extended warranty does not go into efffect until your factory warranty is up, there is usually a deductable, and you have to read it very carefully to see what it covers and doesnt cover.

They say that until you go there with a problem and they tell you it's not covered due to the mods that you have.

Is this a trap? If its for real im on it!
Do it and keep the bill from their work.. just in case...

Hell yes, the extended warrenty is worth it! When I got my 03 evo, I haggled with them for quite a while. Eventually, they gave me what I wanted but made me purchase the extended warrenty for about $2000. A few days after my first mod, I cancelled the warrenty and got nearly $2000 back. Made the purchase price of my evo pretty damn good!

Evo warrenty is pretty good from the get go. If you have to buy something get gap (if your insurance co doesn't give it to you already) or get life and dissability insurance from them. Most likely you'll do what 95% of the people on the board have done and void your warrenty by modding it.
Evo442 is lucky he got most of his money back by cancelling his warrenty, most others are not as fortunate.

ummm.. yeah. My post was meant as an amusing anecdote, not a purchasing strategy!

Local dealership here says the same thing. They apparently have a mechanic that will do just about anything and as long as they do the work they will honor the warranty if something breaks. Problem is they do not tune and that means afc, wideband, or flash changes even their best intentions.

You will sell the car before you run out of warranty.
