Because leaner AFRs usually means higher EGTs which could cause the O2 sensor to go bad, apart from leaded fuel and too much fuel.

Check out these sites to find a cheaper price on the EVO O2 sensor:

Isn't the o2 sensor considered part of the emissions system? I was just reading through the warranty manual yesterday but I don't recall which components qualify under that coverage.

A warranty claim could go either way. It probably depends mostly on how cool the dealership is with modded cars.

Just out of curiosity, how many miles on your car? I just took out my front o2 sensor with 55k on it and replaced it with a wideband. The stock sensor was coated with pink/white deposits from all the times I ran leaded gas, but the sensor still worked fine.

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

I thought Grava Mitsu went out of business.. I'm 10 mins away from them... every other dealer is 40 minute plus drive.

This is my front 02 sensor.. does that deal with exhaust temperatures? I have a EGT guage and I'm usually around 6-7 city and 8-9 if I'm driving for an hour on the highway. I probed to the downpipe not manifold.

Thanks for the list of sites I've been looking for OEM mitsu parts sites and most of them have been unsucessful but those listed haven't visited yet.

I'm running 11.2-11.6 A/F ratio and that should be good for daily driving.

I only have 16k on my car... this is my first problem and it sucks.

I've never ran anything lower or higher than 93 octane.

Mobile 1 synthetic if that even makes a difference.

Instead of replacing my front 02 sensor could I get a wideband?

Another option but if it was me I would not want to put a use 02 sensor in.

I have had no luck with the MA dealerships in Danvers or Lawrence. I've never tried Grava, but Danvers and Lawrence are a waste of time. I dunno tho, given your mods. They will more than likely claim that engine mods did it, even tho its illogical. I had the regional service rep tell me my tranny wouldn't be warrantied because I had an aftermarket exhaust which increase HP and strain on the driveline. They always reach for some excuse....

I really doubt Mitsu will cover it unless you take it to one hell of a cool dealership that knows you well. Especially with your SAFC, MBC, cams, just too much to really even think they would cover it. Dealerships have voided warranties for much less.

If you think that it's okay to fork the money to buy a new stock clutch after spending 30K for a brand new car just because you accidently slip the clutch which took out the clutch then you got $$$$ to waste.
So say you were doing a 100MPH and you accidentally shifted into 2nd and blew your engine should cover that under warranty??? You bought a hell of a car for 30K, learning drive the car properly is the owners responsibility. If you want Porshe/Ferarri/Lambo like warranty/service you should buy a Porshe/Ferarri/Lambo ...

There is a warranty on the clutch against manufacturer's defects that is good for 12K miles, not against driver abuse its in the Manuals ... good book to refer to from time to time ...

Yah.. I know that.. I was just looking for opinions because I felt my mod's didn't have anything to do with the sensor burning out.

My car is a real sleeper... you can't even notice it's modded...

I would love to post pics of my car and I will as soon as I get a chance.

It looks all stock on the outside.. I never customized or modified the body.

Although after having these problems and not driving my car for 2 weeks I think I'm going to calm down on the performance mods and get some visual why not enjoy a nice looking car.
