this would be an issue to take up with MMNA corporate. there was a thread here not so long ago about someone who had sucess with that. I get very frustrated when people immediately cry "SUE" prior to running all other possible options to ground.

I was wondering how long it would take someone to actually file a lawsuit. Doesn't surprise me. Heck, I'm having trouble getting a cracked seat back replaced under warranty. There is a scuff on the back, and they're alleging I kicked the back of the seat and cracked the side by the bolster. Whatever.

No, I dont purchase cars from dealerships do to the high markup. I would much prefer to meet with the person who owns the car get to know them, get to know the car.

There is no reason to pay for a dealerships markup especially when you recieve service like this!

I've got the same issue with my driver's side seat! I know about six people in the area that have the exact same problem. I've been dealing with MOA for the last three months on this issue and they want me to go to a trim shop about 30 miles away, or have one of their porters drive my car there (that's not going to happen!!). I asked if I could drop off my car, they said that I could, but I would have to provide my own ride there and back, what a pain in the a$$!

Nothing is simple with them and they are just trying to get me to go away, but I don't want to, it's about the principle now.

I'll support anything that y'all come up with.

It's not free money and work for the dealerships. MMNA will pay the dealership for warranty work yes, but the dealer won't make money. i.e., MMNA will supply parts and "pay" the dealer barely enough to cover the costs of having to pay the mechanic. The dealer does NOT make enough money on warranty work to even want to do warranty work. The only time it would be advantageous to the dealership is if their mechanics are sitting on there thumbs getting paid for nothing.

Better hope MMNA doesn't research this website and some of the posts here as part of their defense, or you'll be screwed big time. i.e. researching non-Mitsu approved fluids for vital drivetrain components.....

I just had the rust/paint chipping near doors issue fixed. The rust was getting so bad (and with winter coming up) that even after being denied warrantee coverage, I had the body shop prep and repaint the area. I also had them put the Mitsu plastic gaurds over the effected area.

Apparently this problem is so common that most new Evos are currently being supplied with the plastic strips installed by either the factory or by the dealer for no charge.

Let me know how to proceed.

All the complaints about the paint on the calipers peeling. Maybe manufacturers will learn their lesson and leave them plain and unpainted. It's like complaining your muffler isn't shiny anymore.

There may be a very good reason to pay the "mark up" at a dealer. So you can get the level of service you desire from the Mitsubishi dealers.

It's a dealership and regional rep issue...not MOA. There are 3 Evo's in my area, that I personally know of, one of them being mine, that have had their calipers and the rear wing replaced under warranty with no denial from MOA. The dealer made a call, it was approved, parts ordered, was given a free loaner car, and had it done in an afternoon.
There are some bad dealers out there and some bad regions..they need to be brought to the attention of Mitsu Corp offices. It seems to me that Mitsubishi themselves have no problem accepting warranty work on the Evo.
Also, not that it matters but all three Evos that I speak of in my area are modified. One of them that had the calipers replaced is a track car with aftermarket rotors and race pads!
There are mny others around the country that aren't having warranty issues either..

That's weird how Subaru, Porche, Nissan, Chevy, Dodge all use Brembos and there's dont fade or peel.

From now on only post something if its constructive to the case. We are not here to argue with one another but to come togeather, because belive me if you have not been screwed by Mitsu yet you will be!

I very well could be taking legal action as well. Glad to see more people looking to go this route. The District Parts and Service Manager is the problem in my case. Good luck!

I got rust spots on my back passenger door jam and trunk jam. Mitsu told me they are rock chips and there is nothing they could do about it. My question to them was how does a rock chip happen in a trunk. They said when you are going 75 mph things fly everywhere. I was laughing so hard out loud. Then I started to explain what I thought of the "Best backed cars" and then he told me I should leave.

If you file - im in! I was planning on going after the dealer directly, but if you file let m e know what your planning on. I think the best way to go after them is b/c of the magnusson-moss act. you cant deny warranty b/c of aftermarket parts. I dont have time to go into my whole thing (im at work) but I have plenty of ammo for you!
