My OEM clutch died at 10k so I went with an ACT and had it installed at my local performance shop. I usually take it to the dealer for anything non-performance or recalls, etc and honestly I like (or liked) the service - they usually do a great job and have been known to give me a fair price (compared to most dealers)... up until this point this dealer has performed great service. The bottom line is they PROMISED this thing under warranty... they installed a defective part and now Mitsu Corp is trying to say that it's not defective. Well either they installed it wrong or it's effective but my clutch or anything else for that matter DEFINITELY did not cause it to fail - like I stated the noise started right away out of the dealer,

LOL that's your opinion and your entitled to it. With that said, isn't it good business ethics to follow through with a PROMISE to a customer? What world do u live in? Uhhhh better business bureau pop in your head perhaps? It is not the job of the service mgr to EITHER ask the right questions first or properly inspect and diagnose the car before promising something that Corporate will not back up??? Believe me I would NOT have argued if they told me in advance that replacing the TC was going to cost 6 grand, I would have simply said uhhhhhh no

YOUR MISSING THE POINT HERE - I did not request the TC replacement under warranty ... I was told they were DOING IT under warranty and at let them do there job period

if the sorry *** clutch they put in goes out in only 10k miles(id say thats average) YOU HAVE TO FIX IT, nimrod. What, should you spend 1000 bucks with mitsu for another clutch that goes out in another 10k miles?

Why did you never respond to me in the other thread where i proved you wrong about this stuff? You just move to other threads to call people 'mamma's boys' about expecting their car to function properly.

Are you from the retarded generation? The one that thinks a cat-back exhaust will kill your motor?

Exactly either defective TC or installed incorrectly - but how do I prove it?

If they replaced it once under warranty and they unit they replaced it with a defective unit I don't see how they can argue to not replace it with a proprly operating unit and then renegotiate your warranty coverage. The clutch issue is the only small hiccup. They probably could argue that it caused the original TC failure but, I find it hard to believe it would cause a new TC to instantly fail. Any thing that drastic and there should have been something with the old TC to alert the tech to look for other problems.

I'm only going to say this one more time - THE CLUTCH DID NOT CAUSE THE TC FAILURE PERIOD!!! It was a defective part ot the TC itself was installed incorrectly. My previous TC worked fined but the dealer thought it was leaking oil so they replaced it under warranty. I even told them to put that one back in if corporate won't warranty the second one but they refused because they have to send it to corporate to get credit for the first replacement. Get it now? Pleaase elliminate all of your biased views or you are NOT going to be of help to the topic!

I'm having a similar problem. I had a "noise" coming from my transmission area since the car had 2k miles on it and was stock. They thought it my be the clutch, so I had them put in an exedy twin (dealership) because they would not replace the clutch (wear part) under warranty, and was told i would still have my warranty, except the new clutch would not be covered. The new clutch didnt fix the problem and I still have that noise at 15k. The district parts and service manager (rep), will not perform any warranty work on my car anymore. I have since called corporate and will be speaking with the regional parts and service manager to try and get this resolved. If all of this fails, I'm heading to small claims. Good luck with the warranty work.
