I did a search and found an example for ya:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...iding+warranty

That thread just shows how far Mitsubishi is willing to go to void someones warranty. Just make sure you take it off and put the stock one back on before you go to the dealer. It takes literally 2 minutes to switch the stock and hks's blow off valve.

Evo Racing...ECU reflash will void your powertrain warranty. If you reflashed it...theres no point going back to the dealer for ANYTHING..its a waste of time. They can find out.

BOV? That takes 20 seconds to remove, just take it off before you goto the dealership for anything.

Wow, I called my local Mitsubishi dealership and they were cool with it. They said the blow off valve actually helps the car as long as it is in the recirculation setting and that the part itself won't be covered under the warranty, but my warranty will be fully intact. I love the Mitsubishi dealership down here, they are the only nice one where they actually care about their customers.

Question Mitsubishi Warranty Policy

Am I the only one that didn't know the warranty period starts "on the date of original retail delivery or original use, whichever comes first"? Doesn't this mean that the second it reaches the dealer lot, the warranty period has started?

If so, that means when I get around to being able to buy an Evo (next August hopefully during year end clearance) there will already be almost a year elapsed on the warranty of any new cars available still on the lot? Is this really the case?

No, the phrase states "original retail delivery", which means that first date that you drive it off the lot, even if the paperwork has not been completed and the actual sale date is when the contract is signed. Whichever comes first...

No warrantee begins the second you sign the contract.

A funny, if somewhat grim, assessment.

Thanks for the clarification, everyone.

$1800 factory extended warranty for 36K, should I?

Should I spend $1800 for another 3 years/36K factory extended warranty?

So far I have taken good advantages of my warranty

- replace 5gear syncros

- replace Transfer case seal

- replace factory spoiler (very new and shinny)

- fix the heater/ac knob problem

My service rep is extremely cool and very mod friendly so thats a good thing about it.

I guess my question is that:

Is it worth the price? I mean are ****s gonna break that I may have to spend major cash to fix it in the near future - 3 years, 36K?
The condition of my car is good right now and pretty stock. I don't know if I am going to mod it any more. And I'm at 33k already so I need to act quick.

any info would help, thanks!
