There are several people not really contributing a damn thing to this thread. They ought to return to searching for net **** and let the big people talk.

I for one have been following this storey closely because I may accidently autocross my EVO. Mitsubishi voiding warranties without cause (autocrossing is not a cause) should be a concern to any Mitsubishi owner. Who is to say you won't be next because of the Maria Carey CD you modified your stereo with that caused the turbo crack? I want to know the MSM_S2K wins this and Mitsubishi is made to do the right thing by its customers. Otherwise I'm probaby going to bale on the EVO and move over to Subaru which seems to be doing a better job supporting its WRX and STi owners.

That is an interesting list. I wonder if we can get a count of how many EVO owners are on this site and a count of EVO owners in general. Compare those numbers against say subaru and that will tell you if Mitsubishi is doing anything out of the ordinary. If the number of voided warranties here is significantly higher than Subaru (Sti being nearly identical) then there is a cause for concern.

However, if both companies are behaving in the same fashion.....It is still wrong and needs to be fought (consumer protection), but it becomes a larger fight.

You will obtain NOTHING scientific from asking on message boards. Even the owners that are on the message boards might not see the thread. Even if 50/500 evom.net members show up, they might be the only 50 for all we know...

Hey Tweek, how do you accidently autocross? I just want to know so the next time I go in and denies warranty work, I can say I accidently track day'd my car. I guess I'm lucky I haven't been in any organized events so far, just private track days.

I agree. It would be about as scientific as political polling (not very). The results would be interesting because they might give a better indication as to how common this problem really is. I suspect it really is not very common.

Even if it is not common, every instance needs to be fought.

You know how it goes....driving along, sipping a chia soy latte extra foam, when all of a sudden out of nowhere a bunch of cones shoot up out of the ground. As a matter of principal you cannot hit them and must obey the directions they provide. Next thing you know you are sliding the car sideways through a few turns. Viola, accidental autocross.

Thats my storey and I'm sticking to it. You will have to make up your own.

Also, as a point of order: nobody has any proof whether or not I actually do autocross or participate in any form of "competitive driving" acidental or otherwise. Barring such proof the events suggested above never happened. In fact I never wrote that, somebody has hacked my account and is posing as me trying to get me in trouble with the Mitsubishi brown shirt warranty denial brigade.

Have a happy sunday.

umm.. I just bought an Evo and yea yea Mitsu is being retarded but we dun really have to be pissed or stressed about it. Here's what you do, most autocross events dun require you to register actual plates or car registration number. Just put down the right color and register under a different name. Have fun with it like **** Mitsubishi, whatever. Its really simple no point in gettin pissed or stressed out.

Man, obviously you didn't read any of this thread at all. You would be stressed a little if your engine totally took a dump and Mitsu voided your warranty for any reason, racing or not, and then you have to pay to fix it yourself. Take the time to read a thread before you post like you have the awnser.

turbo, you missed my failed turbo that mitsu did not cover. i did not race the reason for warranty deniel was customer abuse and proof of customer abuse was failed turbo. total phucking bs

i don't think there are a huge number of blown motors and other problems but there are more than there should be and the total phucking bs is mitsu not standing behind the warranty
