Had to cut the picture out because the attachment size allowance is so pathetic. Hope its readable. Maybe this C&D article will help Mitsu find a way to pull its head out of its.....

Not very legible, but since C&D was kind enough to run the story ... just buy this months issue.

C&D

The car company with the "best backed cars in the industry" won't even confirm for me, whether they've received any of my letters or emails regarding my warranty denial and arbitration request. I guess that is what they mean by "excellent customer service?"

well whomever said this wasn't gonna affect mits. sales, it does. someone just the other day called me and asked if i had "blown" my motor. I said no and asked why. he had read the article in C&D and assumed it was me (i'm from utah too). i told him it was a friend of mine and that i had sold mine because off mitsu voiding warranties, i also explained to him what MSM has been going through. well to make a long story short, he was about to buy an evo but now he's not. so whatever mitsubishi saves from voiding peoples warranties, i hope they lose ten times as much from loss of sales. way to go mits!

Before I thought that there should be some HPDE track stuff covered and autocross, but I understood the viewpoint that a warrantee was not a contract for race support. However, it really seems that a car built with such an emphasis on performance and race heritage should really cover any solo track racing. Ofcourse over revs and misshifts shouldn't be covered. There is also a difference between abusing a car and driving it in a performance oriented manner on the track and the warrantee should acknowledge this. I would rather pay a couple grand more on a car that has been designed to last under race conditions than save some and worry. I know this is completely an apples to oranges comparison, but take a look at the GT3 ran the one lap of America. I believe it was stock, yet it finished 3rd and there was no preparation in case something broke. It ran like a clock through a grueling schedule of race dates. This is what I want out of a car.

I totally understand the no mods thing though, it's one thing to expect them to stand behind to their engineering, it's quite another for them to stand up behind someone else's.

"I got an Evo with new cams HKS turbo greddy turbo back exhaust lowered 2 inches front and rear strut tower bars puter chip turbo timer 100 shot NOS and modified frame and body work.... Anyway My clutch went out on me at 20k miles when I was drag racing and mitsu wont cover it what a rip....." -loser of the day

In most countries they don't even have warrenties if it breaks you fix it everyone knows mitsu will do anything they can to get out of paying to fix your car how much more can we argue the same point.....

I think Evo resale value and rapidly dropping sales from all the publicity on this issue is costing them so much more than a few sales. It's the resale value that is really making STi's look like a better choice for a track toy.

NO ZERO Manuf's warranty for racing/timed events...RTFM! I've had two friends race their S2k's and honda denied them both...Suby too...even though they "give you the knife to cut your own throat with free SCCA membership my AS###) I just love the fact that there are companies which will sell me a race car I can also drive on the street "F" ANY warranty I told my dealer he would never see my car for any service or warranty issues (I had already RTFM). Run the car race it hard and pay for your mistakes at the cash register like the rest of us "racers"

Yeah, they lost an almost-certain EVO sale to me as well. My local dealer received an "allocation" EVO in mid-May. The salesman called me about it and I told her I was going to wait until I knew more about the MR before pulling the trigger.

I've since decided to forego the EVO altogether. The silver EVO continues to collect dust on the showroom floor (as of last Friday). I'm curious as to whether they've discounted the price at all, but I'm not going in to ask...until Mitsu addresses (and rectifies) MSM's issue.

Maybe the word is getting around.

Regards,
Joel

Stopped in to do some homework on the Evo. Here's the C&D article. I have questions but I'll throw them in a different thread as I can't contribute to this one... Not owning an evo and all.

Yeah, my factory exhaust is defective. So I'm going to need to have my entire engine replaced because of it.

Hey guys, this is how bad it has gotten. I only added a drop in k&n filter and apexi gt catback and my friend that is a Evo tech at the local dealer told me that they will put a restriction against my cars VIN at a local level. I guess I won't be taking my car there. I couldn't sleep when I heard the EVO was coming to the states a couple years ago and now I'm questioning whether on not to sell it. BTW, I got one of those 4 page colorful flyers that say go forth and modify......That's BS! We shall overcome...........

They are going to put a restriction on you getting those parts??!! So, if I go and get a Fram air filter to replace the factory one and get my muffler done at Midas, are they actually going to do the same thing? Pretty lame.

THAT is exactly the kind of stuff Magnusson-Moss is designed to protect against. Got any lawyer friends? That's some absurd ****.
