Modification Regrets?
I regret not going straight to coilovers - I didn't want my ride to be "too rough" or get rusted on salty roads. But a well tuned set of coilovers can ride softer than stock if you change settings, and rusting is only an issue for less quality coilovers, and I think its becoming more and more of a non-issue as time goes on.
I'm going to get ACD reflash ASAP too - I regret having to wait as long as I am

no hard feelings, lets not ruin this thread
It's not a 5k guess. You send in your transfer case to shep trans or english racing. They do the basic rebuild which is $350, if they find something is messed up then they fix it, but it's no where close to $5k. I got a complete transfer case and transmission rebuild from English racing for under $3k. That's with enhanced parts.
I believe you're taking your car to the wrong places. Find a local tune shop (preferably an evo shop) near you and go there. Don't mess with local garages. The evo really isn't that complicated, until you get into tuning it. Even then once you know how it's not a big deal.
Either you have a bad fuel pump or it wasn't installed incorrectly. I've heard dozens of Walbros and can NEVER hear a wine (that is unless the car is gutted, or the fuel is very low). I put an Evo IX fuel pump in replacement of my walbro because it died and I didn't notice any change. Speaking of running the fuel low and getting the whine, don't do it. You will burn that fuel pump faster than you can say "Walbro doesn't honor warranties".
That first gear "whine" isn't the transmission. It's the transfer case differential. Our evo's are geared so low that it puts a tremendous amount of torque on the transfer case. That is normal.

Holy **** where are these guys when I need them..Thaks for clearing alot of things up.
I do run my fuel low ....I never thought that might be an issue. I live in Arizona though, it's hard to find a good place. Vivid racing is here but I'm not to sure about those guys.
