So, i went into the dealership....Got the reflash performed, and i could tell a difference already on my drive back home.

now only if the shifting thing could be fixed soon i'd be VERY happy.....

GOT BACK AFTER REFLASH

Call it placebo or what but i could tell the car pulled harder that i even redlined it first time

the RPMs are idle at .6-.7K i am not sure if thats how it suppose to be

EDIT: increased power might be just in my head! went out for drive again and didn't notice any change

just got off the phone with service and they told me it's a flash for the low idle. they wont do it if you dont have a cel. for people with high rpm sputter try uhooking the battery and see if it goes away .

Just got back from reflashing, wow this is how it should of come from the factory. Pulls up to redline are so much smoother, just feels quicker. I'll have to wait and see if gas mileage has gotten any better.

OK..So I got the reflash today..I am not happy at all..The reflash slowed my car down..It smoothed out the under acceleration but the top end and even bottom end lost some power..My gas miles is still about the same 21-22 on the HW..Overall i guess its good to have the updated software but an aftermarket tune probably is whats going to happen next..

Come to think about it..What if I disconnected the battery..I mean they reset the computer with the software but they didn't take the battery terminal off and reset it like that..You think that might have something to do with it??

I also told them about the clunking into gear which the guy didn't feel when he shifter the car..So since there isnt really a recall on this yet they cant fix it..So he documented it in the system about the problem..

Had mine done again. Again I was told this was not to resolve the upper RPM hesitation, and again they are correct. My car still sputters up top after the flash. There is no difference at all.

They can look it up. Max Madsen didn't until I told them the TSB # and they found it and I setup an appointment. Be more assertive, the TSB is available.

I told them the TSB, and he looked thru all his stuff and still was like "Nope, can't help you". I'm thinking its more a desk-competence deal than a dealer-not-having-it deal. I'm going to try again today...

EDIT: Success!!!! Had to call the dealership in DC to get them to call. Thats a shame I had to go out of my way for the "Rated Best Mitsubishi Dealer in the south east!"

Just got back from getting my flash done! The car is noticably faster and smoother all the way to redline and at idle the car no longer spits and sputters like it is choking on fuel. So much more fun to drive!

Why do people seem to be having such differeing results with the reflash. One person says his idle is better but the top end sputering is no different. Another person says his is slower than before, and everyone else says that the idle is better and the car is faster and smoother. WTF? I don't know if I want to go get this done anymore. Mitsubishi is not instilling confidence in me right now.

^I think some dealers are not flashing the car properly and the flash is not taking. I have seen professional tuners have trouble connecting with the ECU how do you think a tech fresh out of school will do with no computer and flashing experience. There was defentally a differance with my car.
