Love the X or hate it, it's going to be really interesting to see what Mitsubishi pulls off, especially after the DCX pull out.
The quote that has given me the highest hope for the X is this one:
"On paper, the new Lancer Evolution X looks good - we feel that it will make a world rally car that is a significant step forward for Mitsubishi."
That's from John Easton, the Operation Director of MMSP Ltd.
The Evos we're driving around in really haven't changed much since the VII, I mean heck, even the suspension is interchangeable between the VII -> IX, not to mention nearly everything else. It will be fun to see the next major step of Evo evolution wherever that takes us.
Just because a car is "released" doesn't mean it's for sale. Remember that.
They will probably "release" or show it to the public, in spring, but you won't see it till the end of the year.

Now, on my recent vacation to Europe I have noticed a few cool looking models, mainly Colt, Grandis, and the new L200 pickup truck. So it's not like Mitsubishi doesn't know how to design cars inside and out.
I don't know what is up with MMNA but whoever is in charge there they are out of touch with reality. The only way MMNA will revitalize anything is by introduction of fresh sleek athletic new models with attractive pricing. The current crop of cars offered in North America is plain simply ugly, I don't think that putting more money into marketing would drastically improve anything. However the new Outlander does look good and if they will only price it under Rav4 range then it should sell quite well. The new lancer promises to be a big improvement as well so we will see how it turns out to be but again, with it's current lineup maybe except for the new Eclipse they are pretty much out of touch with consumer tastes.

, slide 6 indicates the model launch calendar for several regions.http://www.mitsubishi-motors.co.jp/N...0060802sea.pdf
The Lancer is expected to go on sale in March 2007 (i.e. before the end of Financial Year 2006).
No word on the Evo X, though expectations are late 2007 or early 2008.
Far as leftnews, they haven't been the most reliable source when it comes to the upcoming Evo X, as this mistake it for the 2008 Lancer ES and 2008 Lancer Ralliart. I would trust them like I want the editor to do my heart surgery.
Next, this report has nothing to do with the Evo X, as it's in regards to the 2008 Lancer ES. Mitsubishi want to sale 50,000 08 Lancer ES in 2007, not Evo X. The Evo X is still slated for a late (quater 4) 2007 launch.
