I love the X and I can't wait to get one. I already talked my wife into trading her STi in on the X so I'll pretty much be set as soon as they arrive. The only problem is that it will tecnically be "her" car and I'll have to pry the keys from her hands I'm sure. That's alright though, at least I'll still have a IX MR to fall back on.

i still think early 07 release in the US is very possible but i still think we are not getting the same version as the Japanese maybe still left off with AYC

Paddle shifting limits you hardcore during steering rotation. It's one of the reasons I opted for the 6 MT over the 6 spd DSG.

what in the world are you talking about? It's faster to reach down to the gearshift, push in the clutch, shift, then release the clutch while moving your hand back to the steering wheel than just flipping a paddle? And why are you worried about mid-turn shifts anyway? Most of the time you won't be needing to shift during a turn. But again, if you DO need to, the paddle is closer than the gearshift and still much faster.

So if your steering wheel is upside down it's easier to switch hands or keep track of which paddle is which during heavy shifting than it is to reach down and shift like we all have been for years.

If the paddles are on the steering wheel and you shuffle-steer you have a point...Evo X paddle shifters are on the column though...don't see the delimna...

That's why the M3 has a 'floor' shifter and the paddles. Hopefully mitsu does the same thing.

^^ you guys aren't getting it...the paddles don't move...think of it this way, is it faster to turn on your blinker or shift gears on a manual transmission?

EDIT: Is there anyone here that finds it cramps their style to turn on their blinker in the middle of a turn? Or, if you are turning left, do you ever turn on your windshield wiper because your steering wheel was turned?

I find the people who mock the dsg are digging really far for faults now. First it was the "nothing beats manual." Then it was the "fun factor," the "launch control," and the "real drivers don't use auto macho-BS" And now we're progressing to "dude I can't shift when i'm cornering."
Wtf. If you don't like the paddles, just use the damn shift knob!
