why not have an aluminum block. there are plenty of exotics out there with them and they are fine. Japans technology is amazing.
also everyone keeps saying that it will go for 45 or so. i'd bet that when they finally release it, it will be in the mid 50's to 60's. they are moving away from the tuner crowd and trying to get in on the exotics along with the new GTR. these cars wont be cheap.

it is weak...compaired to the evo at least. i dont know of very many subie blocks that can make serious hp withought needing some serious work done to them.

Nothing wrong with Subie blocks, just a lot of people with mbc's who just crank it up and blow up their engines. And JDM subie block and head are very different from the crappy US versions, especially the 2.0 L STi engines of old.
As for the X, looks kinda like a previous generation eclipse with hood scoops, and smooth doors...I think it will appeal more to a higher price range with a sporty look and not so boxy econo car on steroids look, but i'll stick with my 9

While I like a good clutch, the Evo's has been a weak link. If the paddles and semi-automatic are stronger and more durable, I'm all for it. The semi-automatics, when tuned correctly, are absolutely faster than manually shifting a car, so it's better from a pure performance perspective, too. The sad part is the "gentrification" of the car, if rumors are true. Same thing happened to the BMW M3. It went from a performance oriented car (E30) to a luxury car bloated with features (E46), and then performance heaped on it as an afterthought. And even if the performance specs are close or a bit better than the old car, the price is guaranteed to rise significantly.
So, I guess im dumb, but I can't seem to extract the info I want from a PDF file on the SAE website. Anyway, I just read that the variable turbo that is used in the Acura RDX was supplied by Mitsubishi. That information, combined with the original information, (released at the Tokyo Motor Show on the Concept X) that says, " delivers instant response across all engine speeds with flat torque that keeps pulling all the way up to the red line." indicates that the turbo on the X will be a variable turbo. ...or maybe I am just grasping at straws here.
Open the PDF file on your computer screen and take a screen shot. Save it as a .jpg and post the image here. You can crop out the stuff you don't need that way too. Just make sure the file is under 100kb.

Well according to Edmunds, the turbo found in 2007 RDX was indeed developed with conjunction with Mitsubishi: http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do...ticleId=115583
I like the red Audi RS looking one above, but not the botoxed version. At any rate, it's not gonna matter what I like. The new X is going to be head and shoulders above the previous generations, and I'm looking forward to getting one in a few years, once they've got all the new model bugs worked out!
Glad to see they're moving the bar up and keeping the car "on the edge."
