Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
Those above pics from autoblog make the evo look like a mazda 3 or mazda 6, almost a crossover of the two. That would be ugly as hell.
Is it true that they will be doing an "SMG" type of tranny. I would prolly stay away from it for the first run cuz there will prolly be all sorts of little problems.

the "X"
would you trade the IX for the X or keep the IX and buy the X or just keep the IX and thats it. seems like it would be a really nice and expensive DD in my opinion. would give me an excuse to turn the IX in track car only. and still have a nice car to drive to the office.............your thoughts

im thinkin and hoping the specs will be higher than older models but cant see it too high. but i was totally basing me opinion on just the looks of the car. unless the pics that are floating around are just prototype and not final. if thats the case then yeah hype not needed. but i can see looks leaning towards the look thats circulating around, which isnt too shabby
I think that the majoity of the current Evos owners will take a step back and wait. With this new Evo X everything has to be tested. In paper the Evo X should be an improvement but everyone is very conservative and have reservations.
I am also going to wait, I decided to put as many miles as posible on my Evo 8 MR for now then see if it is worth changing the Evo 8 MR for the Evo X, either way I think it will be another 2 years before anyone has true final veredict on the performance of the new Evo X.

Well my personal opinion I like the evo8 the 9 with that mivec system its just so blah thats why they only made the 9 for 1 year or if the rumors are true because of the side air bags but the evo 10 should be alot different not a 4g63 from the rumors but I would actually stick with a 8 but since you have a 9 thats no help so stick with the 9 until the 10 comes out and people destroy them left and right like the 9 than after all the problems are fixed get a 10 dont know if that made any sense but whatever who am i anyway lol

Can't wait for the X.
Hype has already been created, just look at the official X thread. Only person who can kill the hype is mitsubishi and they would never do such a thing. The X should be the best Evo to date (when release), just like IX > VIII > VII and so on. Each recarnation gets better and better (evolution process), same should hold water with the X. It will only take aftermarket companies a few weeks to a month to start cranking out parts and testing the new engine. Im very confident in the 4B11 and what mitsubishi has in store for it. Alot of owners just dont want to see something one up what they have. Just like VIII owners didn't want to believe the hype of IX making more power and being faster stock.
Can't wait for the X.

Personally, from a new to Evo's laymans stand point, I think the X will be more watered down, less in your face rally car inspired Evo.
I brought an evo because it's an extension of the cars I grew up watching on WRC in England in the 80's and 90's. If Audi made an Evo equivilent of the Sport Quattro I'd be driving one of those probably.

Just look at the new Eclipse, it's a more modern luxury car feeling, driving setup. It's a car your dad would happily drive.
I could be totally wrong of course.
