Who cares about the looks anyway? Evos are all about performance. In my subjective opinion the Evo X is the best looking Evo yet. Comparing the 10 to the 8 and 9 the 8 and 9 look like outdated toaster ovens.

hehe.......your a funny guy (and a little scary) Die! Die! Die!

I've driven Evo V, VI, VII, VIII and IX's on and off the track and the Evo VI is still my favorite with it's superior power to weight ratio. Just an awsome car all around.

it true the X might be faster but the older car tends to have more raw power... for example, a 1999 skyline, you can put a fan in it and it it'll add like 20HP. now, the cars has to strip down engine part in order to get imported. you can be fast but where is your style? in my opinion, the VIII body work is the best

I don't care about style when it comes to an Evo and performance. It can look like a cardboard box and I will still get it for it's performance. If the Honda Fit is faster than an Evo in stock form I will buy the Fit. I don't need a car to show off to the ladies or look cool in front my friends or whatever. If you need a sexy car/metal *****/mechanical muscle to be a man than get a used base model Corvette.

Try to find a video clip of this EVO VI vs IX shootout (stock for stock): http://fifthgear.five.tv/jsp/5gmain....ction=Shootout
(It's around somewhere on the net, just can't find it now). The results may stump you, especially that you are so sure about your statements.

What is raw/uncover power??? All the Evos up to date had/have 4G63 engine so it's not that. From what I know is that Evo VI was a very light design and that was it's advantage. BUT there are such things as safety laws/regulations and year over year they get tougher which is good for our safety but not so good when it comes to performance cars as it usually means adding few more pounds in steel cages or other safety improvements. Evo VI may be the fastest Evo to date but you can thank the government regulations for that and unless car companies will come out with some kind of strong/flexible material that is also light and fairly affordable then I don't think this trend will improve.

p.s. this was all on pump gas as well, could also be a driver mod to though.........lol
your friends next mod should be the most inexpensive and import mod of ALL time.

The driver mod!

Agreed. the Evo VI was a 2800lbs. monster with no airbags or safety shell to speak of. For better or worse those days are long gone.
