dudes... the paddle shifting is awesome. I drove a new GTI with it and it's great. Total no-lift shifting. That's like the old people who refuse to use remote controls or digital cameras because the old way is "better"
Not so much worried about the aluminum block. I worry about the aluminum block being an open deck, where the cylinder walls might flex in high hp motors. Then it's back to sleveing for me, which I've never been that keen on.

Look at it this way, even the quad turbo over a million dollars Bugatti Veyron uses an aluminum block engine, I know this has nothing to do with Mitsubishi but we don't live in the 1960's and 1970s era anymore, technology and engineering really has evolved since then. Most of the car companies (even the performance oriented ones where money is no limit) are going in aluminum block direction so I guess it can't be that bad.
