Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
I'm hoping for either some sort of grey, black or silverish. I'm sure they won't forget to throw a few other wacky ones in there.
With all these bells and whistles I'm interested in what the RS modle (or equiv) will include. I hope at least air conditioning this time lol- becuase that's likely the one I'll be going after.

i just read the article in the latest (March 06) issue of Sport Compact about the Evo X that initially it would only be offered with the automatic paddle shifter and possibly later a manual transmission would be offered.
i am pretty sure this is the consensus and what has been told all of the automotive magazines by Mitsubishi.
I've always like the idea of a DSG but I'm apprehensive. My buddy is a VW tech and he's shared some stories about the DSG's that would lead me to believe that its just not stout enough for an Evo and heavy modifications. I do hope that Evo beefs it up if they put DSG in it. That would just make it too easy to choose.
Yep I'm just a moron people! I knew eventually you would figure it out! This still doesn't change the fact the new X will suck ****. An american designed heavy & bloated chassis, a even higher center of gravity (and roll center), and a aluminum block that no one even has any mods for yet. Sounds awesome!
The rally version carries a spare tire connected to the roll cage... Well, it's not a spare, it's more of a "backup" tire, a rim to match the other 4 along with the same tire.
+1 ^^ That's one good point. Anything that prevents accidental abuse of the transmission or over-revving the engine is a good thing. I don't get why so manyy ppl think it's better to have an antiquated, risky mechanism when there is a better, safer alternative
. Also, I don't think that
is going to purposely release a weak motor in their flagship car.... I thought the new EVO was going to have even more power than the present one. Why would they take a chance like increasing the power in a weaker engine instead of using the old engine? I'm confused by the EVO X haters rationale. It seems that they think that
is going to release an inferior product so they can fail in a market of very stiff competition... I do not read signals in that direction from what articles I've read. Most articles extol the virtues of the new car emphasizing it's superior handling, power and style over the previous models......

Take a look at the 2007 WRC season and you will see a clip of someone using it.Last edited by Vigo; Feb 24, 2007 at 11:08 AM.
