Lancer Evolution X News, Info, Pics, etc... | [ALL THREADS MERGED]
mann what in the world is that?!?? i dont like the lower fogs, and why did they remove the wheels from the Prototype X? Those things were a STRONG feature of the Evo X (i found them to be)
I hope the X comes out and wipes the floor with the VIII & IX. I have never ever seen a bigger bunch of whiney babies complaining about a car they have not seen in person, driven, or actually gotten true performance numbers of. Good lord Id hate to see what would happen if Mitsu decided to not have an Evo at all...
Pathetic...
Pathetic...
Ppl talk all this **** about facts that aren't even real. Too much speculation i got 10 on it that the X will blow the pre evos out.
OH YEAH just to add to this.. HOW IS IT NOT AN EVO? Aggressive front, big wing, fenders, interior is same but better, brembos, everythign is still there. TURBO
If this isn't how you want it to look then explain how it ishould LOOK. Did you want an EVO 8 with a new BUMPER AS THE 10? Because that is exactly what the 9 is.

Oh yea, it really confuses me when people think the Evo VIII/IX is the definition of nice styling. Give me a break. I bought the car for the drivetrain. If I wanted a truly good looking car Id have a Vette or an Elise in my garage. Its a boxy sedan with fender flares and a wing. Get over it.
The other thing I question is the styling comments. People say it looks ricey, yet almost everyone complained the VII/VIII/IX wasnt as agressive looking (rationalized to be not as good looking at that point) as the Evo V/VI. They make it more agressive, people slap a rice tag on it. Subaru goes the more subtle route with the WRX, and people still complain. Sad.

Dead on again. Heh atleast i kno you dont think your EVO is sexy. I never thoguth the EVO or STi was either =). They are just good cars.
That's funny. The set on the passenger side look like Advan Neovas from the tread pattern. Dunno what the others are...
Evo X RS to will have iron block?
Car and Driver says the Evo X will have an aluminum block, but the Evo X RS will have an iron block.
http://www.caranddriver.com/carnews/...otos-info.html
Has anyone seen this stated in any other publications?
I wonder if that's really true.
Could this be an indication that their aluminum engine can't really handle big power? My concern is that Mistsubishi had problems making big reliable power with the aluminum block, and so kept an iron block version alive in production for homologation purposes - thus allowing Mitsubishi to run an iron block in the racing version of the car.
Any thoughts on this?
I know there's another thread discussing the pros-cons of an aluminum eng., but I didn't see any mention of an iron-block Evo RS in that thread.
