You guys aren't taking into account that is also has a lot more crash saftey parts on it which add weight. It's also a bigger car by length and width than the VIII/IX.
And my question is, why is everyone still complaining about a car we don't even have yet?

well if weight is of the manner... can just sum carbon fiber.. and some parts (which serve no useful purpose) can be taken out and idk... water the car down to Engin, AC, CF doors, CF roof, CF Trunk/hood, and maybe an inside makeover make this fat boy into the new STi fighter?

They said the automated tranny will be better than VW's DSG. As much as I love DSG, I can hardly imagine better.

U relize that guess can't be acturate. If they are deriving 3500 lbs by add 400 lbs to the base lancer that is going to be incorrect.

For instance the base 2006 was about 2800 lbs. Add the extra stuff that makes an EVO and EVO add another 400 lbs. The difference with the 2008 Evo is that it shares the same chassis. The 06 lancer need to add~200 lbs in enhancement to make as stiff as it is. This will not be needed in the 08 EVO. My guess is the car will weigh ~3200 lbs +/- 50lbs.

Not gonna be longer then IX. Anyway, 3500 is a bit on chunky side. I hope that the power and suspension will make up for it

Probably too early to answer this, but do you think dealerships will be able to offer SAYC to us IX and VIII owners as a addition, or is it something which cant be added later, because i'd love to have it on my IX.

I highly doubt that adding sayc in later would be cost effective, if possible at all. It has to be integrated into the ECU of the car. Someone correct me if I am wrong here.

Yes, my understanding is that adding SAYC would involve adding sensors, a lot of wiring, in addition to the control unit itself and a new rear diff. Maybe more but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

As far as weight for the X we will have to wait and see. It will prob weigh more than the IX but prob not 3500 lbs. But just have to wait and see.
