. I tried putting it in the other slot but it wouldnt fit how do I get it in there with no problem? I will look at it tomorrow and figure out the problem, if I cant I will ask again
There is more room on the front of the condenser on the passenger side than on the driver side. This past weekend I was able to install two of these fans in front:Originally Posted by steven121

I had to grind a bit of the right side of the middle radiator support to have the right one fit, but after I did it fit like a charm.

d*** I dont have a grinder, well I know for a fact the one in front sits perfectly, does anyone here run one slim fan in their car? Or is 2 recommended? If I have to I might have to pay to get it done. but if I can run one fan I will stick with thatOriginally Posted by senate6268

Its official going to turbo in exactly 2 weeks!!! Just waiting for my manifold to get here.
Hey one last question just confused about the boost part, when I have the 5-10 pound spring with no boost controller, when I accelerate will it let off at 10 psi automatically or lets say I push on the accelerator to 9 psi do I just let off the accelerator or shift into another gear when that happens? How do i control the amount of boost thats my question I need to run about 5-7 psi due to my clutch!!!

With the 5-10psi spring with no boost controller you will max at 5 psi so your good. A turbo only works while your accelerating so if your just cruising at 60mph or any speed for that matter you will not be in boost. Only when you accelerate does your turbo spool.

Also factor in 1psi for pressure loss across the system. So you'll be making around 4psi with a 5-10psi spring in the wastegate.Originally Posted by 03lances

and with my boost controller I can up the boost to 10?

Yes but, as always, do so at your own risk. Make sure you have a strong tune to support that amount of boost. People have blown their engines at boost as low as 6psi from not having a strong enough tune.Originally Posted by steven121

The same thing a regular fan does but fits in a smaller space.Originally Posted by qaz003
sooo what exactly does the slim fans do for the car??

03lance gave me his tune for 10psi well I bought it because I wanted to give him money for it in exchange. But I still have the copy and he has been boosting for quite a while and it seems that he has no problemsOriginally Posted by senate6268

I still wouldn't just romp on that tune. I'd only use it as a starting point, and that is if its conservative enough and smooth. Data log on lower boost first.Originally Posted by steven121

+1. Like I previously stated, the 4G94 is very susceptible to damage from boost, even at a low amount, if the tune isn't spot on. Just because a tune works on one engine does not mean it just magically works on another (even with the same setup).Originally Posted by SyZyGy1394

Yup. Take your time when tuning and do it right. Ideally you wouldn't like to bash your internals with some beefy knock to kill your compression.Originally Posted by senate6268

Yup I could not stress this enough also. I aquired a couple tunes from members and although they were knock free with it I was still getting like 10 counts. I have learned to not slap the whole tune in but compare my tune to another and see where I might make adjustments to certain tables.
